I love both cars. Its nuts how much a good looking set of wheels can change the look of a car.
 
it sucked how i got them though. he posted those pics a few years ago, and i told him if he ever wanted to sell them i wanted first dibs, a few weeks later marvin was hit very hard by a van and the car was so mangled, he asked me if i still wanted the wheels and i said why? then he showed me the pics of the car, i felt so bad, but i got my wheels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
My red LSC would look much nicer without the grandpa Octi's on it. I think those first pics will have me changing mine out soon.
 
Oh sh!t Jamie you shouldn't have. All that man talks is about his Toreador red 97 & how he lost it to that red light incident! The other night he was over at my place, he met my girlfriend & all he could do is talk about this car to her.
 
yeah loved both cars too (think i burned the pics onto a cd somewhere around here) and i too remember the aftermath of the red car :(
 
Jamie I thank you for posting those pics. You really brought back some nice memories. I remember when I had my 95 Cougar back in 2001 I would go into Lincolnmotorsports.com and check out the Mark VIII pictures and just drool over them. Then finally 3 years later I was able to buy one "My Lost Toreader Red" and it was my dream car. This car was flawless. It was brand spanking new. She only had 45,000 miles. It was owned by an old man with heart issues, when I lost the car I still had the heart monitor cables connected to the fuel release button. Then with a blink of an eye she was taken from me. My cordovan is nice but not half the car that my toreader was. It has a serious rust issue but hey the way I look at it is this car today and a better one tomorrow. Soon enough after the meet im strapping a For Sale sign to it and with the money i get from it im buying a better Mark VIII.

So finally the owner shows up to the thread, lol... Dude, I cannot tell you to back out of selling your cordovan because u deserve another 45,000 mile Mark. Just don't invest much on "non-removable" items on this Mark. You know this hobby isn't an investment. Make sure whatever u place on it can be taken off & re-installed on your next Mark. I for one want to see you with either another toreador red or a black Gen II! Hard to find with low miles but I know u will succeed!

the rust is on the whole suspension from the front to the rear....plus on the bottom of the doors and on the rockers...I already had to patch up the drivers side rocker, sand it down and paint it...if you look closely at the driver side rocker by the rear wheel you can see the patch. Im pretty good with a paint gun so its hard to tell.
 
Still a very sharp car. You brought it a long way and had you not told me about the rust I would have given that car a 9/10 rating. So you gonna fix the rust or just ride her till she dies and start over again?
 
Let me tell you I've seen this car up close. To see the rust you really have to look for it. Yes, Marvin's right, the rust is there but the car is very clean, rides very nice, interior is very clean & the car is a 9/10 if you ask me... Even up close! I just helped him sensor lower it last month & this car has a new exhaust. It sounds insane! If you look at the cordovan side by side with this one, it's neck/neck! They both look very nice. Marvin, just post ONE pic from the day you bought this car next to one of the recent pics... You shall see a HUGE difference!

That car is worth saving. I have similar issues with my car, but plan to have every last bit of rust removed from it.
 
Naw that car wasnt worth fixing...the cost of the damage was far superior than the worth of the car. The most expensive thing to fix was the frame, it was bent from the front to the rear on the passenger side plus if aligned it still wouldnt be straight. Plus the suspension on these vehicles are delicate as is. Plus I sold the car complete for $700 plus money I made on the wheels with Jamie plus some other parts I sold like the rear neon, side mirrors and such....the lost was bad but I still made some cash on it.
