That would be me.
Did I make the same move as you and purchase a Mark because it's heart (read engine) came from a mustang?
Absolutely, I totally remember that sig! Nice to see a familiar face...or car....HAHAHA! Did I make the same move as you and purchase a Mark because it's heart (read engine) came from a mustang?
no i bought my mark VIII 5 years before my mustang because of the mighty 4v that gave birth to the 96 cobra......sadly the mark 8 is the only one thats still with me.......![]()

i havent done much except the plugs, wires, coil packs and a strutmasters 1.5 inch lowered spring and strut kit and the radio+speakers if you count that. i also swappped out the tan interior to a black one i pulled out of a wrecked 94 mark 8. the wife is now driving it. about 3 months ago i was laid off at work and we had to file chapter 7 bankruptcy, we had to let the 02 mustang gt and my wifes 03 trailblazer get reposessed in order to keep our heads above water.
since im in school i had 2300.00 from student loans i had to use to by another car with. i ended up with a 98 v6 firebird, i looked for 94-04 v6 mustangs for 2 months but i couldnt find anything that wasnt blown up or torn apart/project.
Every time I see someone post what a PITA the oil filter is to change, I so want to make a commercial... "So easy, even a CaveMan can do it". LOL :bowrofl:
Actually, with practice it is easy. I can pretty much remove the oil filter blindfolded anymore.![]()
I think the airbox is an even worse design. You can't even get a stubby screwdriver behind that left corner bolt. I ended up having to use multiple extensions and my air wrench. Ridiculous to say the least! I can re-tap the heads on my Mustang, yet I have trouble removing the airbox on my mark :runaway:
Changing the air filter in a Mark is one of the easiest jobs - takes 5 mins.
lol you have to understand hes a mustang guy....theres alot more room around the mustangs engine than the mark's engine.
Maybe on a 93. All I know is the first three bolts were a cinch, and that last pos closest to the passenger side fender-well was a pita!
Why not undo the nuts / bolts that hold the entire airbox in the car, disconnect intake tube and MAFS plug and remove box from car, then open it up, change filter and put back in?

have you removed the silencers on the air intake tube yet??
The thing that looks like a 1950's style UFO?
