Absolutely, I totally remember that sig! Nice to see a familiar face...or car....HAHAHA! Did I make the same move as you and purchase a Mark because it's heart (read engine) came from a mustang?

no i bought my mark VIII 5 years before my mustang because of the mighty 4v that gave birth to the 96 cobra......sadly the mark 8 is the only one thats still with me.......:( :( :(

Yeah I had that backwards...haha. I hear ya on getting rid of the stang. I'm letting mine go soon too. I'd rather have no car payment while I get through law school. When I get out I'll just opt for a Saleen vert instead ;)

Sucks you had to let yours go. I'll be feeling that pain soon. Have you modded your Mark at all?

i havent done much except the plugs, wires, coil packs and a strutmasters 1.5 inch lowered spring and strut kit and the radio+speakers if you count that. i also swappped out the tan interior to a black one i pulled out of a wrecked 94 mark 8. the wife is now driving it. about 3 months ago i was laid off at work and we had to file chapter 7 bankruptcy, we had to let the 02 mustang gt and my wifes 03 trailblazer get reposessed in order to keep our heads above water.

since im in school i had 2300.00 from student loans i had to use to by another car with. i ended up with a 98 v6 firebird, i looked for 94-04 v6 mustangs for 2 months but i couldnt find anything that wasnt blown up or torn apart/project.

Sucks man! Many of us are down that road, or treading closely. This economy really did a number on nearly everybody!

My Mark has that same strutmasters conversion you're talking about. I plan on lightly modding it. I added a K&N panel filter, and am ordering a SCT tuner from Reinhardt in the next week or two. I'm contemplating doing the Steeda pulleys too, but I'm getting conflicting answers when searching so I'm on the fence with that mod.

Eventually, I plan on adding the 96-98 Cobra intake manifold, and possible a little exhaust work. I'm on the fence with the exhaust too though because I like being a sleeper and pulling on people that are clueless of what the Mark VIII packs.

What are you going to school for?

Every time I see someone post what a PITA the oil filter is to change, I so want to make a commercial... "So easy, even a CaveMan can do it". LOL :bowrofl:

Actually, with practice it is easy. I can pretty much remove the oil filter blindfolded anymore. :)

HAHAHA! Yeah it was a PITA until I finally got it out. Hind sight is always 20/20. The problem was the previous owner was using a bigger oil filter (I think FL1A) so it was a pain to get out. I won't have so much trouble next time.

I think the airbox is an even worse design. You can't even get a stubby screwdriver behind that left corner bolt. I ended up having to use multiple extensions and my air wrench. Ridiculous to say the least! I can re-tap the heads on my Mustang, yet I have trouble removing the airbox on my mark :runaway:

im in school right now for auto repair. once im done with it im going for autobody repair. i had 75% of the parts lined up to convert the engine in the lincoln over to a 03/04 cobra right before i lost my job. i was only 1 week from buying 2500.00 in performance parts for my mustang......that would have blown.

Changing the air filter in a Mark is one of the easiest jobs - takes 5 mins.

Maybe on a 93. All I know is the first three bolts were a cinch, and that last pos closest to the passenger side fender-well was a pita!

lol you have to understand hes a mustang guy....theres alot more room around the mustangs engine than the mark's engine.

Exactly. My Mustang was so easy to work on. The only thing on that car that wasn't easy to tinker with was the headers. Long tubes on that is not a fun install by any means.

Btw, that's cool you're following your passion. It was a hard decision for me to choose between law and cars.....Cars is definitely my passion. Good luck with everything, and I hope everything starts going uphill for you bud.

Why not undo the nuts / bolts that hold the entire airbox in the car, disconnect intake tube and MAFS plug and remove box from car, then open it up, change filter and put back in?

have you removed the silencers on the air intake tube yet??

No....remember I'm retarded! HAHAHA! :shifty: Seriously I don't know where their located. Obviously I know their on the intake tube, but where I don't know! I'm very good at doing things once I'm shown a picture of something or someone points it out in person. I'm very good at critical/logical thinking.....but when it comes time to locate things I'm a tard.

It's just like the PCV valve. I was told by the parts store it's a good thing to change when you service your car because it's so inexpensive. So I bought it.....Now it's sat in my garage for about 2 months because I can't for the life of me find the damn PCV valve on the car.

and the pcv valve is on the drivers side valve cover. its the shiney thing right behind where the spark pulg wires go in to the valve cover.

ive got another intake tube that ive cut the silencers off of and i have to plug the holes yet. ill see if i cant find it and post a pic for you
