Headrest Removal

If it's anything like the Gen 2's, you've basically got to remove the seat skin, and then there's a clip that you remove on the headrest posts.

If you unscrew the plastic pieces on each side of the head rest I think you can get the clips from there. Otherwise you need to roll up the skin until you can get a hand up in there and remove them.

Greg, if you don't care much for the seat, it seems like a little cutting is required on the leather, around where the post go in at. I was going to remove the lite graphite headrest off the old 95 seats tonight but don't have time right this minute. I might be out there doing it between now and 1am.

yup, you need to turn the upper skin inside out basically or unhook the bottom of the upper skin , at the bottom of the seat back the front and back of the skin snap together, unsnap it and smash your arm up the rear of the seat skin till you feel the clips at the bottom of the headrest posts and pull them off it sucks either way! or unscrew the post covers and go in through there too with needle nose pliers.

i got my headrest off by going thru the top holes and pulling off the clips. getting the clips back on from the top is next to impossible. best to roll up leather to top of seat and re clip. a big PITA.

When I removed mine I just unscrewed the plastic beauty covers around the posts and used a pick tool to pull the tiny metal wire clips off the shaft and then it slid out with no problem.

This = yeah, that's how you do it.

Cutting the leather ? WTF

he's cutting the leather on a set of seats that are trashed, not cutting the leather on a set of good seats !!!!! :)
