97 lsc converted hids 2 years ago have always had problems with the passenger side messed with the wiring on that side and couldnt get it to work,so i get the bright idea to rewire the passenger side to the drivers side thinking that the wiring should be all the same but evidently it is not! both work for a few seconds then blinked out , then crap hit the fan. all interior lights went nuts i think from unhooked wire to the lights? so i cut it all back out stripped wire off on passenger side and rewired that side back up , got it to work but drivers side will not work at all unless i plug passenger side into ballast then it works . also now headlights do not shut off with the switch at all turn it either way doesnt show delay or shut . is it possible i blew out my switch ? is there separate modules? for each side? i could find any fuses for any of this stuff . what am i missing ?

WOW! If you are attempting to communicate via the written word, you've got to be more precise and write in a style that can easily be read by others. :(

If, in fact, you can no longer shut off the power to your headlight circuits, then yes, you've obviously damaged something.

What ballast were you referring to? The stock one or the the one that came with your HID kit? Did you really plug something other than the stock HID bulb into the output of the stock ballast?

HID kits come with new ballasts, one for each side. The two original OEM ballasts must be removed (or at least, not used). The new ballasts are wired to the plugs at the bottom of the radiator core support that originally supplied power to the stock ballasts.

Give me some clear details, perhaps some pics, and I'll try to help you.

sorry was a long night at work and to top it off the problems with the headlights were just too much . i converted the headlights to a new ballast and lights 2 years ago when my bulb burned out. i rewired the new ballasts to the drivers side thinking that all the wiring goes to the same circuit , it worked for a few seconds then nothing at all so i wired the passenger side back into the passenger side wires it was working on that side and if i unplugged it from the passenger ballast and plugged it into the drivers side ballast that headlight would work . is there some module? or is it in the headlight switch? are the original wires to the ballasts on seperate circuits or? why couldnt i wire both sets of ballasts into just one side?

and i forgot to put in there that the headlight switch will not turn on or off it moves around but if you turn it to the off position or the delayed it used to tell you your delayed setting and it doesnt acknowledge it at all when i turn car off headlight that was working stayed on for 3 mins then shut off . what the hell did i do? should i just sell the car and buy an ls? just kidding cant afford an ls, i got 10 plus in this awesome car already! on a side note i race a bonneville ssei today and won but barely! what the hell ,something is not right with my tune or somewhere in there? can you lose a tune ?im sure that is a dumb question but im asking it anyway

Sounds like you've got a problem with the SCIL. But it's hard to say. You need to get the factory wiring diagrams and do some trouble-shooting.

did a search found what it is , are there multiple fuses for this? could it be a fuse somewhere ? headlight switch does nothing, high beams work other functions the scil controls all seem to work its just the low beams ,drivers side? or both sometimes , why couldnt i wire the ballasts up to one set of wires !this should have been no problem as it doesnt show seperate fuses or curcuits for each side . why did they have to make this car so ffing complicated!

ok i found it ! fixed it ! and hope i never do that again! IT WAS THE #19 FUSE ! stupid owners manual only says steering column ignition lighting for each fuse instead of what they cover . it must cover the drivers side lowbeam and the autolamp delay .
thanks for the help on this now i got to figure out the rest of my problems with my brakes, buzzing sound in radio ,and little stuff like that .

power is drivers side rca passenger side sheilded cables anyway buzzing wasnt there until later on checked all grounds regrounded them all added extra still no good

on a side note i race a bonneville ssei today and won but barely! what the hell ,something is not right with my tune or somewhere in there? can you lose a tune ?im sure that is a dumb question but im asking it anyway

the ssei is a bit faster than a gen2 mark stock for stock (my buddy is a bonnie fan and ive raced his) all they need is a smaller blower pulley and then they get a decent jump in HP

yeah i told him that . what size can he go down to without having to change anything else?

that i dunno. but there were a few guys there that walked me at the track that had the pulley. pm him (01bonneSC, something like that on here) he should be able to point your buddy in the right direction
