Does anyone here know roughly a Gen 2 exhaust would look like on a Gen 1 with no modifications, just bolted straight on? I worked a deal with Jamie and he is holding onto a complete, unmolested Gen 2 LSC exhaust for me, and I am wondering if the tips will interfere with the bumper, hang below the bumper, or be stuck in the backside of the bumper. Has anyone experienced this before? I do plan on X'ing it and putting some different mufflers on it in the following weeks, but in the meantime, I was just curious...

Thanks

He should have pics because he put a 98 LSC exhaust on that 93 he had. I rode behind it and it sounded good.

Sapperfire has done it with the exhaust from Lasers 98. Not sure if he changed anything to start with or bolted it right on. Sapper, jump in will ya!

I know sapps car had laser's old exhaust, but I think the exhaust was a built system anyway.

pics from my 93 wont do anygood because i cut the mufflers off before i put the exhaust up on the car!

Here you go man...
That's the set up I have on my '93. I have a '97 LSC exhaust that had 2 FlowMasters on it. I swapped the Flow's out for Magna's but it even has the STOCK '97 tips too. Looks pretty good.

see i think if you were gonna do it on a gen 1 w/o the cutouts you should flip the tips over and swap right to left, so the flat part on the tip goes against the flat bumper

edit looks like ultimateSVT had a panther edition so he has the square cutouts anyway

+1... Flip 'em, they would look nicer. I got lazy & never did anything to the tips, just slapped the entire exhaust on the car & off I went but this gives you an idea!

Yes I have a Panther Edition so that helped out when it came to the exhaust fitting right in. You know, being that my Panther Edition comes with 200hp more & all you know....:D Those cut outs alone add on at least 20 hp each!

All kidding aside, I wonder what exhaust tips came with the Panther Edition?

runs out to the car with a steak knife to make square cutouts in my bumper!

You can see my tips...and hear my exhaust here

it's the exhaust from Lasers old 97 LSC, 3rd cat dropped for X pipe and FlowMaster D40 mock mufflers by Raven

yes the mufflers are hung on a hard brace from the normal mounting point, just used a slightly longer hanger bar..they sit about 1/4 inch under the flat bumper..I don't think it looks terrible...but one day before paint I'll be getting a gen1 bumper with the proper cut outs for the tips, im waiting on a Gen1 lsc to hit my salvage yard because I would also like to delete the Base molding all the way around..I've already got the moldings from the 98lsc in the yard :-)

what dan is asking is if anyone has put the stock exhaust off the lsc onto a base 93-94 without cutting the bumper, he is wondering if the stock muffler and tips will not mess with the 93-94 rear bumper. dan i dont think it can be done without handing the mufflers lower than they are supposed to be because the tips will hit the rear bumper cover if you dont cut it out around the tip.

No crossover of any kind?? Doesn't it sound flappy ???

Im fine with cutting my bumper, just wasnt sure if they would stick out too far or be too far in front of the bumper, ya know?

OMG DUDE go look at my previous threads! It sounds like I hung a pad full of papers at the end of each tip! I have a beautiful x-pipe in the trunk of my car just sitting there. It's been there for the last 6 months or so. Cheapest place I can install it will charge me $135.00. Miami sucks major @SS when it comes to exhaust labor! I deal with it, I have no choice until I come up with the cash!

Right...there is about a 2 inch long step down added between my mufflers and tips..nothing special, just a smaller pipe that fit sleeved inside the other

just tell your exhaust shop where you want it to be when it's all welded up, or better yet, have them drop your exhaust..then just hold the tips where you want them, they can make it fit right
