Gauging Interest in a "National LS Meet"

Just gauging interest in throwing a national LS meet. For years I was on the Chevy Beretta boards. Every year we had a Berettafest(Beretta meet). Three day weekend event. We would all stay at the same hotel. Have almost the whole weekend planned. Hit the local atractions. Trip to the dragstrip. BBQ at the local park with a show-n-shine car show. Even had awards and attendance prizes.

How many members would truly be interested in an actual "National LS Meet"?

Now, I live in St Louis. Fairly centrally located in the U.S. I could do a LOT of leg work for getting group rate hotel prices and discounts. Could make arrangements for hitting the local attractions. AB brewery, Grants Farm, Arch, etc.....

Who would REALLY be interested?

When? June, July, Aug.
 
Great idea Rollin. I think any summer/early fall month would work. The only thing that would hurt attendance for the August/September meet would be school. Whether it be members being in school, or having kids in school.
 
i would definitely be interested, although i'm moving next summer and i won't know where until February, would be fun though
 
I am in! I'm not much of a party animal, but this sounds like a fun trip
 
This is the exact same idea I suggested at one point yesterday since the two brothers came from quite a distance just to hang out with all of us for the afternoon. I would totally be in.

One requirement though: It be somewhere close enough to Oklahoma so Andrizzle can come. For the second meet in a row it has been suggested to find a way to get our cars together so they can meet each other

Haha, I am hella down. I also may be moving next year, but it will be in the spring. The plan is to stay in or around OK. I could do STL easily. There are several KS and AR members also that could make it. TX members could probably strive for the trip as well.

My car will be wrapped by then, also! :D

Alax, it would be insanely awesome for you to make it from CA. We need a prize for furthest traveled.
 
Yeah, that would be quite a trip. I would probably do a week long trip, stop by in a few places and just end my visit at the national meet, then just do the same on the way back.
 
if it's close by my LS might make it.
 
I like the idea even coming from the lands of north central Indiana/southeastern Michigan. I would have attempted to win newb award at the last meet, I think you guys settled on Toledo but I just started my co-op the week prior and didn't know what was going down. I'm assuming there's never been one?
 
I like the idea, I would suggest somehow tying it in with Lincoln. I think LLSOC did a get together at Lincoln's assembly plant and talked to LS engineers??? However, It is true that I wouldn't be that excited about seeing/hearing the back story of any of the new Lincoln offerings.
 
Just throwing this out there. Possible plans for a three day meet.

Arrive friday evening for those that have longer distances to drive. A simple meet and greet. A little cruising to local hangouts to BS. Get a good nights rest.

Saturday, some local site seeing. Nice line of LSes cruising down the road.

Saturday evening, I know of a local ALL Ford cruise. They welcome Lincolns. Possible LS invasion.:rolleyes:

Sunday morning, farewell breakfast and goodbyes.

Any suggestions?

Does this sound like something everyone would like and be interested in?

I know I can get group rates on most, if not everything listed. The hotel rooms would be easy to get a discount on. The go-carting sells group package.

Next summer. Gives everyone time to plan and save money. Plus, make sure no one has school issues. Everyone is out and done. some members might want or have to bring kids.
 
Sound's like a next year thing. What you have suggested sounds awesome thus far.

It would be impossible to do everything in one day. But St Louis does have a list of options for us.
 
I'm really digging the AB tour, and now I just found out it's only 6 hours away. Considering it's 4 hours back to my parents house, 6 hours isn't that much farther.
 
I'm in the KC area so I'm down. Maybe I can talk my GF into driving my other LS so I can bring both of em.
 
I would be down.

Each region could be assigned a group leader and i would suggest we all get some cheap cb radios wired in so we stay in contact for emergencies/pit stops/possible breakdowns.

Have some extra parts in our trunks in case we need to replace a tstat/coolant/plugs/coils on the way.
 
I'm totally down for this. Next summer would the best. I think everyone would agree with that. Gives everyone more then plenty of enough time to plan everything out and make arrangements. Location don't matter to me. Totally worth the drive no matter where if I can see all ur guy's LS's. :D

Maybe KC? Il Ike the idea guys I will sure try to make a meet like this!

I was thinking about that too lol. All I have to offer at the moment is a quart of oil and a rear axle seal though. Couldn't imagine trying to change one of them on the side of the road, but it's there if anyone needs it.
 
Hmmm this sounds very intresting! My friend always goes to st.Louis so maybe I can get him to go along, make sure I don't get lost. It be cool if everyone from their areas could meet up with other members & drive up together. If it's next summer & all is still good then I think I would be down for this.
 
im in MS and got friends in memphis i could break my trip up so i would be down and the fastlane cars tour gets me excited!! never stopped in st Louis jus drove through but seems like cool place!!! great idea would be fun to see all these LS's in person!!
