Saw a Challenger R/T and kept pacing him. I kept praying we'd get the red light and sure enough we did (thanks god :D ). I beeped and yelled at the guy but he wouldn't look over. It was an older guy so I'm like "eh, he's not gonna race". Light turns green and he dumps on it, so I dump on it.

Now any of you that truly know racing know that if you hear the other guys car peel out, by the time your brain processes and your foot hits the pedal you already lose a car. The drag strip proves this time and time again when I tree the f out of most people.

Anyway so I dumped on it and pulled up to his rear bumper and very very slowly started gaining until he shut down at 65mph.

Man what a ricer move to dump on it and not give any acknowledgement that you're going to race. A nod, a rev, a thumbs up....something. Oh well, I think he shut down because he didn't like that my Lincoln was gaining on him:D

I think that race surprised the both of us:eek:
 
Most excellent. Havent raced a Challenger yet but I have suprised many Charger and 300C owners here. They just dont expect it from the innocent looking Mark VIII.

I had a guy yesterday asking me all kinds of questions about mine. He said hes only seen a few and thought he saw a Lincoln badge so he tried to find the car online cause he wanted one. He said he couldnt find it cause he didnt know the name of the car and he assumed it was a brand new car. When I told him mine was 13 years old his jaw hit the ground. :D

The car is just the ultimate sleeper! People expect the Chargers to be fast cause the Hemi hype but they never see it comming from a large Lincoln coupe.
 
yea my mark suprises tons of people.....its kinda a catch 22......it suprises people and ricers always want to race it cause they think its slow...mustangs don't want to race it cause they think its a slow waste of time.....but........when they do they see the red stripe tail light
 
A guy at work told me he'd run his Magnum with the 5.7 against me. I crunched some numbers and it looks like they run neck and neck. I think i might try it out....

Bro, check every nook & crany in your car first, make sure you are delivering all 280 ponies, do that tune up your car deserves & light 'em up baby! Wouldn't hurt to install an aftermarket filtercharger there to help it breath a bit better before you kick his ( ! ) lol!
 
Ya I must agree with all of you. People dont know what they are getting into when they take on a Mark. I love to beat up on the BMW people, seems to happen a lot in the area where I live. Im sure they will think twice when they see a Mark once they've been beaten by one.

when you say 300c. are they the 5.7s or the small ones.

300c is the 5.7 hemi good for a mid 14 1/4 mile. The SRT 8 is the 6.1 Hemi good for a low to mid 13.

my bad i didnt realize the v6 versions were called a limited. i thought they were all 300c .. nice im trying to get my frien d to take his 300c to the track i can race him with out getting a ticket

they are all called 300c the hemis say hemi right under the 300 signia and the srt will have srt on the trunk lid in red lettering and 20 inch rims stock

No they are not. Only the Hemi gets the C designation. 6.1 or 5.7 they are both 300C just one is also a SRT-8. The lesser models are the Touring, Base and the Limited which has everything the SRT does minus the drivetrain and brakes... and suspension.

LOL, I can relate to that. Most Mustangs are easy pickin's for me.

The 300C is no match unless it's an SRT8.

All at the track of course. ;)

I've never lined up against one that I can remember but they don't scare me. Most of the high HP "new" cars don't have a driver that can drive worth a crap anyways. They have to pedal them off the line to not lose the launch to the Lincoln which just 'squats and goes'. While they're back there shredding tires, I've gotten such a lead on them it becomes a game of "let's catch the Lincoln". By the time they realize their mistake, it's all over.

Like I tell everyone, my car is not THAT fast, it is just surprisingly QUICK. :D
 
Yeah, the LSC was 0-60 in 7 flat cause the car does squat so well. Tune, exhaust and gears should knock over a second off that and that puts it right with a 300C SRT-8 leaving the end result up to the driver.

HAHAHAHA! A game of let's catch the lincoln. That's pretty funny driller. That's exactly what it is. Do you leave TC on when you go?
