Well we tried at first. Had an 11 o'clock appointment for Gear Heard in Arlington to do a base line dyno run and load the temp tune to my XCal-2. Well me and Sapperfire show up at 10:30 and the place is closed up tight. They are closed for teh holiday. :(
What sux about this is that I asked three seperate times if they would be open on the 31st and was confirmed they were in fact open. So I drove 130 miles to get there.

Get pissed and go have lunch then to the Ford dealer to check out a 2011 GT500 with the performance pack...... thing was sex! Want bad but no can have. :(
Travis, the owner of Geraheads tells me his father stopped by the office and saw the note I left and their tuner offered to come in and take care of me. Cool beans so we drove back.
WHAT A CANDY SHOP!!
Multiple Saleens, Cobras, sweet notches, sweet hatches and a 5.4 Lightning swapped SN95. All very nice.

Well he strapped the car down and got three runs in and the car layed down almost identicle numbers every time.

Power was:
rwhp 229.85 @ 5370
rwtq 243.49 but forgot the RPMs.

97*
38% humidity
29.95 hg pressure

So no idea what corrected is but I am fine with the numbers. :D

I am waiting for Sapperfire to send me the video file from his iPhone but here are the pis of teh day.

I think it was nice of him to at least give you a call and tell you to come back, although they did verify a few times that they would be open. The first pic, the car has a nice stance to it. Your numbers look good too Laser.

Just wait till you get your new toy put in and then get a whole new dyno ran on it.

Yeah, that was definitely cool they called you. You ran a little bit better than my car did. what do you have done to it?

Exhaust, tune, gears.

I just calculated correcte HP and its 241 rwhp. That really suprised me. Kinda figured my car was a little slow factory. If 241 is accurate and figure 20% driveline loss then thats only like 302 hp. That would mean my exhaust and tune only netted me like 12 hp.

I hear ya. I was quite let down too, I have the same mods except I don't have gears.

looks like a busy shop. did you make any changes from run to run(fuel pressure)? did they make any suggestions about how to get some more power out of it without gettin to crazy?

No and no. These were simple base lines. We didnt think it neccesarry to retune it since the car runs fine on its current tune and is only 5 days away from no longer using its tune.
He will be doing a full on tune on the 7th and make it perfect. Hes an x SCT employee and really knows his software.

Gotta say I was ready to not like the place after them not being there but it was a mistake and they went above and beyond to correct it. I am impressed with the service and the work. Seeing what he tunes every day made me very confident they will do right with my car. He has also tuned a couple other blown Marks. He did say that one of them that had a baseline only made 208 rwhp and then 355 with 9psi KB 2.1L on it so that makes me hopefull that I will see some nice numbers. :)

130 miles thought you lived in corsicana when does the work begin on the blower. Maybe next could be a head job.

what does it cost for a dyno run? i have never done it, i'd love to know what my car makes for power. with all the crap done to it, i would slit my wrists if if only made about a 12 hp gain!! i'd love to find out.

I think allot of that is because my tune is designed for a car with more exhaust flow, steeper gears and a bigger MAF. Prolly pick up another 10hp with it dialed in.

Dyno run is about $60-$70 but they charged me $35 for my baseline since next week I do the full dyno tune. Apparently I got a low price on that too cause they messed up. Normally he charges $375 for an automatic/blower tune but is charging me a bit less cause I told him I will tweek my trans tune myself and he wont have to reflash for trans changes. He was happy with thet. :)

Not bad, but those numbers are STD corrected which will read higher than the industry standard SAE corrected.

At least we know why Sapperfire is running with you. That shouldn't be a problem shortly though. I need to get a proper tune after my Cobra intake install and hit the dyno for a baseline. I plan on getting mine into the 13's before the supercharger install.

You said after your proper calculations you had 241rwhp..... that means i hit it on the nose!!!

Ive been thinking about that. When we ran he said I had to leave it in OD. My car definatly launches harder with OD off and much harder yet when I launch from 1st and manually shift it.

Wish we could go run again. :(

I used the SAE calculator. It said at 229.85 rwhp my car was making 95.X% of what it should have.

Jamie a place in Tampa charges $30 for 3 runs I'll hook you up with their number if you're interested...that is if they are still in business. They did my dyno almost a year ago...
