I just got a call from the shop that is installing my gears about a few problems they have run into. He told me that someone had been into the rear end before and had installed the bolts on backward. He did not say which ones (cover, internal etc) but said that they had to cut them off. How in the hell is that even possible?
Gem #2 was a rusty welded exaust. They had to cut it and are going to have to weld it back up. Guess what my next thing to replace wil be
It must be about as much fun as when I finally got my steering wheel off and discovered they used loctite on the shaft.
I have a feeling that this install (gears, T-lok, fuel pump and driveshaft) is going to go from around the $750 originally quoted to closer to a grand. Hopefully it will be worth it.
I have corrected a few other idiotic things on my car and still have a few more to go apparently.
