when i start that 95 i bought the air bag light light blinks 3 times, then 2 times then pauses and does it again and again, is that a 32 and if so what the hell is wrong with it? i dont want a bag blowing off while i get this car ready to go on the road for the wife.
 
32 Driver side air bag high resistance or open in circuit

Sounds like a clockspring or the bag itself is your problem.
 
ford has had prob's with clocksprings, but it's usually the drivers side. The guy that butchered it wasn't crawling around under the dash too was he?
 
I've had the same code on my 97 since I got it about a year and a half ago. I've searched about it and have come to the conclusion that it's the clockspring. Someday I'll switch it out with the one sitting in the garage and see if that fixes it.
 
Mines does the same thing, the air bag lights flashes over and over....I just learned to ignore it and thats it. My steering wheel feels ok so I just ignore it and keep on going.

i have a feeling you wont need to worry about the bag "blowing off", i think with the error code that bag will NEVER "blow off" until you fix it
 
pulled this off the net:

I replaced the clock spring on my wife's 94 Aerostar. The dealer wanted $90 for the part and about $250 for labor. I found the part on line at fordpartscheap.com for $70.00. It took me about 1 hour to do the job. You need to remove the air bag from the steering wheel(disconnect your battery first), then remove the steering wheel from the column(you can get a free loaner steering wheel puller from Autozone). The clock spring is held by three screws, the wiring runs down the column under the dash board and also to your ignition switch. I will look to see if I can find the site where I received good info on doing this job. I will post when I do. The clock spring controls your air bag, horn, and cruise control. Our airbag went first, then the horn, then the cruise.
 
yea did a clock spring in mine, took me like a half hour.....my horn still doesn't work, but oh well.....hahah

Depends on the year you have. Some require removing the steering but the earlier models don't. I took my 94 in for the recall and it was just a simple disconnect and they are still asking me till this day to bring it back for the new part to be installed but I don't need cruise control. I'm never selling my car until it's falling apart so no reason for the cruise to be connected if I don't need it.

If they messed up your clockspring, blame them for it. Doesn't hurt to try. Tell them you didn't have any problems until they got done with it.
 
hmmm, horn works, and cruise switches still light up too, i didnt try the cruise control though since the car isnt registered. who knows what the jackass got into. i guess i can try throwing in another air bag and see what happens, if that dont work i'll yank the wheel off and try another clock spring. thanks.

nope, the cruise recall has absolutely nothing to do with the clock spring or the steering in anyway, unless you count them driving the car
 
well thats fixed, changed the clock spring, everythings good. the ribbon wire wasnt broken, so i am not sure why the clock spring is bad, but whatever, its fixed and the old one is in the trash!

Jamie I read my codes like you said and I have the same code " 3 then 2". So do I need the same thing as you like you originally thought? How easy was it to do? Do you know what the part number is for it?

Man you're a freaking Mark VIII psychic. You should go to car shows and give people automotive psychic readings. lol

90% of the time yes, it is the clockspring. There could be a short under the drivers seat according to my research, but likely the clockspring will fix the problem (I am having the same one). As for the part $73.91 new:

i got it call me in the morning i'll be there doing a coil spring conversion and brakes on a 94 tomorrow.
