here is the deal, 93-94-95-and 96 units will all work in any of them years, the 96 units have the same face as the 97-98 eatc but the internals are not the same. 96 will work in all years 93-96. 97-98 will not work in first gens.

He has a 98 and everything I picked is all 97/98, pole smoker or were you just telling the deal? Juss pickin atchya Jamie.

i have a 98 mark and my climate control mod went out...can i use one from a taurus.....having trouble finding one for my 98

I have a FLAWLESS one from a 97 I will sell ya cheap. No scratches, no burnt lights and no cracks. I was gonna install it inmy 98 but was able to buff the displays scratches out so never installed it. Came from my 97 so I know it works.
