I started off with some red Bullit calipers that I sanded down untill the Pony was gone and then hit it with 4 coats (2 lite, 1 med, 1 med-heavy) of gloss black (wasnt initially planning on using clear). Then I layed down the Mark VIII badge I had made and re-sprayed the whole caliper silver with the same coating as the black. After I peeled off the decal it looked good but the badge lacked depth and I was worried about scuffing them putting on the wheels. So I put on three coats of high temp clear and am just really happy with the results.
They have a metallic flake look to them and are very shiney even though the pics dont show it well. When I install them and take some pics in natural light they may come out better.
Here are the products I used in conjunction with 800, 1500 and 2000 gritt sand paper.
