Car crash and Ticket Help

Damage doesn't look that bad (in the pics at least) - I'm sure your exhaust will be fine.

take it to court, see if they will drop it to failure to yield; should save you on the insurance.

If you can find the parts, it shouldn't be too hard to get it looking normal again. But if you want good paint that matches, I think you'll be looking at more than the car is worth. Myself? I'd look into replacing the damaged body panels and trim, taking it to MACO or whatever sh!thole paint shop is in your area and have them spray the replacement parts on the car for $200. In theory, you COULD walk away from it only spending $500... again, depends if you can find the parts. Also depends on if you don't mind having a car with body panels that are not quite the same shade as the rest of the car. Could always sell it once you do your little $500 repair. Maybe end up with $700-$1000 in your pocket? Again... biggest issue is finding the parts

Otherwise, scrap it.

Take everything you can and put it on the shelf... your own parts store when things go bad. Then you will find members who are in need of parts... you can help them out when need. You'll be saving money because you have those extra spare parts when you need them.

I parted out a 94 and Love my spare parts shelf.. Has save me tons. Some of the parts will be those glad I have it for now. So I can save up for the new part.

Also you will not make much on the parts... All depends on what people are in need of at the time.

That's about what I made from the parts I sold.. but then I now have spare front 1/4s, hood, engine, winter rims with tires, and lost of little parts that come in handy when needed... This was the savings...

ok... well guys im going to look for a gen 2 mark viii and try to remove the hood bumper and fender and look at the damage. If i can put the parts back together i will go to my junkyard pull the parts out try painting them(i will practice on my messed up parts first) and put everything back together because the car still drives amazing no noises. If i cant put everything back together i will part it out. I will try to pull everything off and see the damage and hopefully save a mark viii. Who knows i might be in the 24 club soon.

IF there is not real frame damage it might be a really really easy fix.

The car is MB silver, not a factory color right?

I "fixed" the Kframe on my friend escort with a hammer chains and a tree... it can be done!

the frame of the car doesn't seemed damaged from what it looks like but i won't know untill i take all the parts off...
yes its MB silver

How did I remember that?

Lol...

Get the front clip off and post up some pics, this might be a really easy fix... how far are you from Jamie :D

Bad luck....keep the mark and get the parts...

If it drives fine..I'd fix it. I've got 3 1/2 Marks....I've got issues. 93 runs, but needs work. 95 is great shape, but previous attempted to a valve job and timing it off. 98 well...thats the 1/2 car..I bought for the motor andother parts..it was smashed in the rearend....

I jsut brouhgt home a 94 today...it was side swiped in tha back but has 88,000 miles on it. Clean and still drivable. If I was closer I'd offer to part either the 94 or 93....and send ya the clip.

174,000 is not bad. that equates to 10875 miles per year....

ok can anyone tell me where the clips for the front bumper are. I tried to research but nothing... i think there are 6 clips or so where are they. How many underneath and how many where the the tire is located etc.
Thanks for the help guys, and i will try to post pictures soon

Bumper cover is easy. I used Ray's instructions. Can't remember exactly how many screws / push pins there are - you'll figure it out when you do it.

- Remove hood latch bar.

- Undo plastic screws on headlight beauty cover and remove.

- Undo screws and nuts on side marker lights, unplug harnesses and remove.

- Remove 2 nuts on both sides that hold bumper cover.

- Remove screws inside fender wells that hold bumper cover.

- Under car, remove screws and plastic push pins that hold bottom of bumper cover.

- Reach up inside bumper cover and remove the plastic stabilizer bar from the header panel by pulling plastic push pin. DO NOT TRY TO UNDO STABILIZER BAR AT BUMPER COVER END!

- Pull bumper cover forward a short distance and remove 2 nuts that hold back of grille in place.

- Carefully remove cover. (try not to scratch the paint on your fenders from the bumper cover studs!)

Thanks 93 Blue, we were able to get everything off without a problem. So here are some pics of how i stands as of right now. We took off all the broken parts off which were the
HOOD
FRONT BUMPER
CORNER LAMP
PLASTIC THING IN THE FRONT THAT HOLDS THE HEADLIGHTS
RIGHT FENDER
THE INTAKE BOX IS BROKEN
CHROME STRIP ON TOP

As you can see in the pics, the frame is alittle bent from the top and it hinders with the plastic assmble tha holds the Headlights. It just needs to be an inch down and it would not have a problem. Also the metal part in the front of the airbox is pushed in.

I am thinking two things as to what we can do with the airbox problem

1. Push that metal part out.(would be hard as I will explain)
2. Put a cold air intake as it will not hinder with it

What do you guys think?

I tried to hammer the part in the front that hinders with the Plastic headlight assembly and it would not go down. Anything that you guys can suggest???

Thanks a lot guys

All the wiring needs to come off.
Your air cleaner....airbox need to come out.

I would use a torch for heat at the right spots and bang it out.

You could get it close enough to continue driving it.... Trees make good solid point to pull and lift from....

If you could find a straight car in a yard you should be able to get the parts to fix it cheap...

since you PM'd me i finally see this post!! like i said in our PM, i really have no time to paint it, but if you want to trailer it to my side of the state i will fix the core support, the front bumper core and whatever else i find bent. i have radiator cores and bumper cores up on my ceiling in my shop. i'll just grab a welder from work and fix that all. i had to do it all in my 98 when i rear ended some asswipe. i have the body parts you need, i'll price it all up for you in my PM reply. look at my repair on my 98 lsc last year. ive done body work for a long time but never as a job.

NICE JOB Jamie!!!

Trailer that thing to him and have a local cheap paint place spray it.

If you don't have the money....now you have the idea what you need to do.

Banging it out will just get you close...so you can drive it.

Cut and replace is the correct way.

jamie's way is the "right" way to fix it.
