I am trying to find the closest matching interior trim paint I can get. I am talking about the black trim that goes around the stereo and the defroster switch on Gen 2's. I am having a custom pannel made and want it to match or it will forever bug me.
Any ideas ya'll?

You might think about painting them all the same color....then you won't have to worry about matching.

get the gloss black, it doesnt dry gloss, its satin, this is what i use stuff is great. nice match too. and the grey they sell, dead on match to 95-98 light graphite grey in the marks, dead on.

Excellent! Thanks Jamie, I will grab a can tomorrow! :wrench:

Would that be the nice chrome ignition bezel that f's up the pats system?
Tried that once ;)

I used the same stuff Jamie posted in Gloss Black and it does dry gloss black, i can take a picture if you would like. If i would have known it was a high gloss black i would have went with the flat black. My dash looks like is covered in ArmorAll 100% of the time.

Yeah, post a pic if you would..

I have a friend that modified his car for components with fiberglass inclosures, I'll have to ask what he used. He found a perfect match also. They used a paint gun though.

Please do as I want it to match correctly.

It wont be intill late tonight after i get home from class. If i had to do it all over again i would have used the flat black insted of gloss on the dash, it really doesnt match any of the other black panels in the car and has way too much gloss.

remove all the trim, it's cheap and effective.

take the monies saved and spend it on beer and bewbies!

Jeff

Your so wastefull, painting :q:q:q:q, throwing beers, you could have saved those $$$$$$ and had your blower conversion.

Geeze, buy you books send you to school and you still don't understand?

WTF, Bill, do Ihave to show you how to schmooz a lady too??? :p

OK, I will give you the price of a can of paint and throw in a 12 pack of any beer in exchange for a blower. :D

Yeah, that doesn't match, I'd be very irritated.

I think I would've tested it out first though.

Thanks for following up.

WTF are you talking about??

When I bought my Mark a couple years ago the guy had a chrome bezel in the console. I swapped it out and then started having issues with the anti theft, the key only worked about half the time. I thought maybe it was the key and got a new one... same issue. I swapped back to the original bezel and all the keys worked every time.
shortly after that I discovered someone had put a remote start in and the key that was in the pats bypass module was bad, I never tried the chrome bezel again..... i might have chucked it!
