Back in the game. My LSE thread

Is 02 LSE spoiler on the LSK website still available? I took an exhaust video for everyone. I'm uploading it to a you-tube video right now. I took my car to an exhaust shop today to get everything looked at and verify the components. It's true-dual exhaust the factory h-pipe has been eliminated and braced instead. I'm going to be puttin in an x-pipe next Weds. They are in-fact aero-turbine resonators, just not in the best condition as they haven't been polished in however many years. It also has upgraded cats, but the brand is unknown. Piping is 2.5" from the cats all the way back. And we know it has the Dynomax mufflers with unknown 3" dual tips.

That I should keep it how it is..or? Lol sorry just don't get where your coming from. But yeah I do agree I really like how it sounds actually. I guess I just never really got the chance to hear it real well and today I got to hear it from outside of the car instead of me driving it.
 
Damn those two tone gen1 tails look so nice. Really take the grandma effect out of the LS.
 
Thank you, I agree! I really like the tails and am very paranoid about anything happening to them.

Lol and sorry about that vid, I wish the camera wouldn't have moved. I was trying to get the whole car in the vid.
 
Lol honestly never had the chance to hear it outside of the car I guess. I'm sooo used to my old car which has ZERO sound deadening. Hell I can barely hear the horn from inside of the LS. Really noticed how good it sounds when I fired it up in the service bay at Lincoln today. Guy laughed and said it sounded better than his Silverado.

I'm just from a completely different world. My exhaust used to be louder than my engine now all I can hear is the roar from the V8. Not complaining I love it. Just not my nature nor am I familiar with it. Soon enough though I'm a quick learner.

I'm hoping it will sound a little cleaner, hopefully more even toned when I put in the x-pipe.
 
The stock exhaust on the ls is silent as hell.

without an intake you cant even hear the engine during wide open throttle.

remember the LS was a 40K+ luxury vehicle so yeah it is very quiet on the inside.
 
Yeah I don't have anything to compare it to really. I owned my last LS back in 06 I don't really remember what it sounded like haha. It's amazing how much a vehicle depreciates isn't it? And vise-versa how much a vehicles value can inflate over the years. I'd love to own almost any late 60's muscle car as a weekend ride.
 
sound nice. Definitely not stock, far from it.

Thank you I really like how it sounds too. I'll upgrade to Borla mufflers sometime in the summer. And I'd like to get a little nice quad tip set up.

I know its not stock, I had a feeling it wasn't after I drove it a couple days. Just didn't realize how much was already modified. Which is by far a good thing as I was planning on upgrading anyways.
 
Like I said before, you wont get a louder exhaust if you go with borla. You have resonators on which quiets the mufflers a lot. I only had the borla mufflers and they weren't loud at all. If you're like me though and have to see for youself, then go for it. I had to go through 3 different brands until I was happy with it.
 
Yeah if you want louder just cut out those resonators and weld in pipes.
 
Don't necessarily want louder. Just eventually I know I'll be looking for a different sound. I've always liked the way Borla has sounded on any car and its not as popular.

No need to change it really, just personal preference :-)
 
Save your money for when your coils go bad....lol. Seriously though, put the x-pipe on and leave the exhaust for now. It's already upgraded, and you've got a whole list of other stuff you want to do.

If you do replace them, I would be interested in how much you would let them go for.
 
Thats true. I'm holding off on the headlights for now I want to buy another set before I dig in because its my DD. I did however break down and buy a Pioneer double din DVD player. I really need my iPod hook up, the DVD player is a plus, and it has a memory card and aux input right in front. Memory card input is very useful I can load a dozen HD movies on one card and play them.

And as for the coils. I had the service department check all my spark plug wells for oil and they're all perfect. Also had them look into the warranty further to verify that the coils are covered and thank god they are. I paid 2700 for a full bumper to bumper warranty for 50k and so far they've been great. Free rental anytime my car is in the shop and included tire road hazard warranty which I think is a sweet deal. Weds will be a good day for it. Should be perfect again
 
Spent about 4 hours polishing with some 3M compound today. Got ALOT of surface scratches out of the paint and really brought out the depth. And of course the sun went away right before I finished. Heres a couple pics anyways.
