Hey guys,

I have been feeling a bit down in the dumps with my car lately, just since it has been very tight trying to save up for summer vacations, so the car has gotten no upgrades recently. With that, I am just curious, what would anyone here realistically pay for a car like mine?

Many here are familiar wit my car, but I will hit the highlights...
Champagne/Black
Dual 6k HIDs in Halogen housings
3:73s w/ 93 driveshaft and new u-joints
True dual exhaust with Borla mufflers
2000 Mustang 4r70w with a j-mod
SCT chip
Turbo Chuck Motor Mounts
1 1/4" sway bars
Bilstein rear shocks with t-bird adjustables on the front
Coil Springs
Custom Coil on Plug conversion
Mint Octistars
235/55r16 BFGs with about 70-80% tread

Soon to have cobra exhaust manifolds with the steering shaft mods
Mustang GT front brake upgrade

Paint has a couple small spots of fade.


Just curious if my car has any sale value, would anyone buy this car?

I think you should be able to get $4-5k for it. You might have to wait a bit for the right buyer, but someone will come along who is willing to pay the extra for the mods.....:cool:
 
While still a beauty, It would be very difficult getting over 3750 between the miles and paint blems. Of course that's only my opinion.


I'd just keep it.
 
do you know how many miles on the trans? I think I remember you put it in not long ago...

(when) was front end suspension rebuilt? lowered coils? front Addco too, right?
tint? stereo?
 
The front strut rod bushings and ball joints were done last september. I don't know how many miles were on the transmission, but I could tell while I was in there that it hadn't been rebuilt too long ago. New separator gaskets and whatnot that were not Ford gaskets. It is currently at stock ride height because I really like the firmness of the ride. The car freaking HANDLES. It is super tight and firm. They are newish OEM coil springs and shocks on the front.

Stereo is a Kenwood Excellon with JLs in the doors and Lanzars in the rear quarters. Could use a re-tint.
 
Sadly, most could give a rat's a$$ about the mods... probably no more than a $3500 car around here. :(
 
Eh, thats not terrible.

Everyone has that dream for their car... I'm not sure how far off mine is, but I like to think one day... My car has come pretty far and I have to remind myself that even if I sold this car and got a mustang, I really am starting all over again. I tell myself this car is pretty much a mustang with a different body. It really drives like a dream, so much fun to drive in the corners. One day, wheels, brakes, and more engine mods!

At least that's the plan.
 
I'd think if you asked 45, you may walk with 4k or more...it might take a while though;

you may do better trading for something you want, say if you found a stang worth 10k, you may be able to trade the Mark + $5k cash
 
Around here, probably in the $3k+ range. As awesome as your mark sounds, you never get what you put in with mods and mark VIII's aren't exactly in demand like mustangs.
 
Dan, I admire your car as much as everyone here. You've got more work, time and money invested in your car than most M8 owners and I'm sure, like micha said, the right one will come along.

As a matter of fact, I met this fellow today at a grocery store parking lot who just happened to have pulled into the lot before me. As he was walking towards the store, he stopped to look in my direction, admiring the look and the stance of the car. As I stepped out, he gave me two thumbs up and his approval.

Turns out, this man is a member of a local hot rod club and he's admitted to have been admiring my car for a while, seeing it parked at the lot on several occasion and always wanted to meet the owner (me). We chatted as we made our way to the store and he knew the car is a Lincoln but have never seen one done nicely as mine. Made feel good he would pay 7G's for one similar to mine even without the upgrades you've done to yours.

Just goes to show, it takes the right buyer to want to spend that kind of money for a car like ours.
 
Sadly we never get what they are really worth. DO yourself one favor though, don't post it on CG. Pay but post on autotrader. There are always some sh!tty Marks there for $3k-$4k making yours look like a gem next to them. This means yours is more likely to get attention. My prairie tan will be going on there soon.
 
its worth just as much as the buyer will pay.
you find the right buyer, you can get what you want.
but it depends on how long you can wait to find this buyer.
 
Its worth more in MN or for that matter anywhere in the salt belt 4-5k especially if you put some clear on the bad parts of the paint.
 
Hang on to it! You did all that work to it and it truly is a beautiful ride. Why get another car and start over? You know what you have. Don't buy someone else's headache. Besides, you would probably regret selling it if you did so. You can't put a price on reliability!! That's why my Son will drive that 93 until the wheels fall off. It always starts and gets him home.
 
Give you 5 dollars!! Actually if I wanted to buy it I would spend around 4k to get it since there is no rust on it. Still not worth getting rid of it, you will (like you said) just start over with something else that needs the contents of your wallet.
 
Dan, you'll never get the true value for your car. People are looking at the year only. If you are losing interest in the car, and you have the room or can afford a storage, put the car away for six months and come back to it. You'll regain your interest again.
