for the past few days the alarm will just go on in the driveway. the remote is in the house, but dead ive never used it. i wonder some how if its linked to my ignition miss somehow maybe the computer is shot? its the only thing that controls timing and any throttle over 2g under load will cause serious misfire and bucking, let off it will idle fine. coils fine, wires i guess are ok, boots new i was beginning to think the egr was causing the miss, but now the alarm keeps going off possibly the pcu. reallllllllyyyyyy getting frustrated :mad::mad::confused::(
 
im beginning to think that. would the fuel pressure reg cause the car to stumble over 2g? i cant get the feuel pressure to read on the sniper interface so i dont know where its at.
 
is the hood shut? there is a sensor that checks to see if the hood is open. mine broke. so its unplugged. set off the alarm all the time.

if you have a fuel pressure problem, it gets worse at higher rpm, cuz you need more fuel.
 
hood sensor. Happened to me also. Would go off in the middle of the night.
 
i ziptied it down the hood actually sits up a little since the little accident i had a few months ago that i cant fix since i keep screwing with motors, or rather getting screwed. zipties, probably the worlds best invention next to duct tape and divorce:D
 
I'd say hood button too. My 94 done that and I aligned it back straight again and put a locking clip on the top side of the fender to keep it up and straight. Then it started doing it again and I noticed that the windshield was leaking when it rained (before I had a garage) and the water was leaking down the inside of the windshield on the passengers side and working it's way through the dash somehow and making it go off. I disconnected the two white plugs at the module and that stopped it for good. Didn't need the alarm anyway. Even after the leak was fixed, still kept it disconnected.
 
i had a problem like that, whenever i parked my car in the sun the alarm would go off on a hot sunny day, winter, never.
 
mines was doing the same a few weeks ago and it was a problem in the door locks....i sprayed some wd-40 in the locks and good as new.
 
so i should take it to someone to tune it. thats what i was thinking, the dynotune guys here want 150 hr 2 hr minimum or it might take less.
 
Just unplug the security module, I did. My alarm kept going off randomly and I have no idea why, so I just unplugged it. If someone really wants to steal your car, they will. I didn't figure out old security setup would stop anyone.
 
and where do i find said module? it hasnt gone off at all today,but the way my car runs now they wont get far.and where is the FPR on the 98? where the lines plug in to the fuel rails? theres a bell looking thing on both rails.

My 93 has the same issue with the hood. I no longer arm the alarm on the car.

Now... On another note, about 7 years ago my truck started doing the same thing. I went crazy for about 2 months trying to figure out the issue. Turns out my remote went crazy. I opened it, removed the battery & never had any issues with it again. <-- Food for thought.
 
My 94 also leaked water by windshield. Water dripped on to alarm module causing alarm to go off . Replaced plastic pc by windshield and also removed module, it now resides in the trunk.
 
Mine did this a few years ago due to the door sensor. wd-40 and silicon spray fixed it in my case. The hood sensor makes sense, too.

I don't have the slightest clue why I asked that question.:p I think it was cause I hadn't had my morning xanax yet, which reminds me, I need one now so I can go to sleep or I'll be :eek: all night long. Anyway, now I know he has a 98 LSC and to the OP, just disconnect the alarm. The panic button will still work if someone ever tries to car jack you or if you look out the window and see someone messing with the car.
