I turned the AC off for a week or 2, weather was nice so I just didnt neeed... but now I turn the blower back on.. smells like cheese or something nasty.

I also found some small ants wandering around - I dont have any food in my car and I am not some fat nasty bum. I dont know what could have happened? Maybe a bird got sucked into my cabin air filter, died, and has ants coming for it?

I sprayed an ass-ton of lysol into all the vents while running, shut it off, and let it sit for a few. Did nothing, so I guess its not mold.

Do I even have a cabin air filter?

Do you happen to live near a field with rats? they have been known to get into the duct work and die. Might be the reason for the ants feasting on something. The stink can only get worse if it is a rat.

Sounds like you should see a physician by your description.....

But seriously, I'm with nolimit. Something probably died in the car, or your evaporator case drain is clogged.

Where should I be looking for these things...

And thats just nasty LOL

Transmission leak can attract ants.

As for the smell..... you may very well have a dead animal in the system.

To check to make sure your evap system is draining you need to look under the car on the passenger side near the accumulator for a hole in the firewall. With the car and AC running there should be a steady drip from there. If not you need to shove a hanger in there and clear it out. Usually though if its clogged then there will be water on the passenger side floor too.

Ok got a slight tranny leak.. only several drops a day so I dont bother fixing it. Im guessing its the dipstick O-Ring.. just not worth dropping the tranny til I feel like replacing the Ujoint and perhaps the Yolk (Car sometimes has a tiny/slight bang when getting back on the gas at 40/50) Its crazy that tranny fluid would attract ants!! Does it have a sugar or glucose in it? I wouldnt imagine so.

As for the drip..it looks good, freon is low so Its not cranking so I wasnt gonna waste the 40 bills on it.

Is there a Cabin Air-Filter in this car?

As far as I know, any vehicle that draws air from the outside to cool the inside has a filter in the process

My previous owner...well not mine, but the cars hahaha was a smoker and Im sure that it could afford to be replaced. Where the hell do I find this thing

No, no air filter. Most cars dont have them and all AC systems work the same Sapper. They all pull from the outside unless on MAX/Recirculate.

That's why I said "as far as I know" however I never expressed how far I actually know about our system...every car I've done ac work on had a cabin filter
stick your face under the dash and sniff out your smell...and get a $5 can of Ozium from walmart (it's with the scent trees) and put your blower on recirculate and spray a bit under the glove box...a short blast will do the trick

its strange that our cars didnt come with cabin air pollen filters and other ford products do, My wifes Taurus has a filter, my sister had a contour with a pollen filter also.i guess even at $40k in 1993 the filter cost to much to add for Lincoln.

Our cars have a nice spot for a filter but you need to buy a larger filter and cut it to size if you want to make one work, i havent found a filter that just drops right in.

I think the sweaty balls smell is just your upper lip.

no terry he doesnt live near a field, there are no fields over near ft. lauderdale area. and he didnt need ac for awhile because it cooled down quite nice here, but now its warm again unlike nashville where no one would be using ac right now. hello bodybyass welcome back to lvc the place you hate so much you just cant stay away.

Im not sure why all the confusion but I guess I should have been clearer... the air coming from my vent - be it heat or AC, smells bad. Its about 50 right now so I have been using the heat lately and the dang smell just wont clear out
