97 Mark Viii LSC vs 11 Camaro SS

I have two videos of mine beating a Camaro SS but I didn't post either because both have a defect. One ends before the race is over and the other is low and misses the win light and time & speed. It's hard to get good videos and race. I was so luck on 12-11-11 because I got half decent video's of the two best runs.

How much power do you have at the wheels?

Camaro ss' is a fast car, hard to see out of though  sure do Get a lot of surprised faces and grief from those bastards though with my truck. I really need to get a camera haha.

i was there, i was in the camaro. the mark viii stayed with us until about 70-80 and then we pulled on him... i dont see how ya are gonna sit here and down somebody when you got a taurus as your signature. just sayin

You really shouldn't have said that!

those wheels look sick on that mark !!!!! cory you need to get the cobras

As Laser just said, not Cobras, those are Saleens

WTF. Are these dudes from FSS focking with us?

I would think were being trolled but not by FSS ppl... Atleast not from South Fl. I live in Miami & those pics don't look like they were taken anywhere in Miami.

I don't want speedstars or cobra r's. They are played out everyone has them I like to be different so I'm getting Stern St6 put on mine. My mark will be nice just wait.

So how many Marks do you see on the road w/Speedstars or Cobra Rs? THe ST6's belong on a BMW or a Lexus but that's just my opinion.

I'm not sure. Its had many improvement since the original tune. Its first day at the drag strip on 3-20-11 its best time was 12.59@105mph and its best last time out was 11.66@119.81mph. I plan to have it retuned this winter because now it shift at only 5,600 rpm's. It's power seams to peak at 6,200. The Camaro SS was a brand new one which is faster and more powerful than the older ones. The older ones I pull from them all the way down the track but this one fell back about 4 car lengths in the first 1/8 of a mile but stayed right there the last 1/8 of a mile. The first video is its best run and the second is my favorite. It was shot in HD and most of the sound is the lincoln. Thanks. Mine has 63,xxx miles on it and the engine is completely stock

No trouble believing the 4.30 gear and bolt on Mark VIII hung with an LS3 Camaro up to 70mph.

Now you see why it is quite believable that I raced a slower 2003 GT Mustang with exhaust and literally had him before the crosswalk on the other side of the intersection. I have a 3800 stall converter to add to the mix and I seriously waxed the crap out of that car. 4.30 gears are the ultimate street gear and I bet my 0-60 times are somewhere under 5 by now. Those Camaros are heavy pigs and would run a low 13 at best but probably slower most of the time.

What is your exhaust setup? You can get another 2 tenths easily with pullies and electric water pump if you want to stay with just bolt ons. What tires you running at the track?

Glad you asked. Maybe you can direct me. A very low 13 is my goal next year. My exhaust is kooks headers, and crush-bent 2.5" exhaust with x-pipe and stainless mufflers. I would like to do underdrive pulleys but have heard of charging and cooling system issues. I don't see doing an electric water pump. They have a $hitty life span and my car is a daily driver in the non-wintery months. The tires are 255-50-16 Mickey Thompson E/T streets on the rear and up front this year I'm switching from steelie minispares to the all-aluminum ones with 215-60-16 Firestones. I need the front suspension rebuilt and a dyno tune first and foremost. I believe the car has a very low 13 in it if I get everything in order. There is a lot left on the plate for this car tuning and suspension wise.

the cooling issues i have seen come with under drives AND the cobra pump. i've been told do one or the other, not both.
also, the alternator issue, if even an issue, is easily solved with an alt overdrive pulley. figure out how much you are under driven, and overdrive by that much. kinda defeats the point of the UDPs, but you can still underdrive the power steering and stuff that way.

I have never had any issues with under drive pulleys. Just make sure to get a quality set like the ASP and not the cheap BBK or Summit Pulleys. The best one you can get is the ATI dampner but it is pricey. Do you have the IMRC's on your car? What type of tune is it? You can gain a lot from a real dyno tune...

Can your car sit at idle at night with the AC on and lights and stereo for more then 2 minutes without giving a charge warning or the standard glitches they get when the system drops low like "Check Traction Control" or "Check Transmission"?

Cause with just an underdriven crank I had issues on hot nights sitting in a drive through for more then a couple minutes.

Good job. If I understand correctly the new Camaro SS has more power. The one I ran twice on 12-11-11 that was brand new and looked stock but was running low 12's. I didn't hear it but when I got back from beating the SS the folks I was there with from TCCOA said the announcer had said the Fords should go home before this SS beat them all. So they were delighted I beat it.

The new camaro ss is rated at 426 HP and 425 Torque, so it has a lot more power then previos camaros. lol i like when people assume things and then it goes wrong for them!lol i should have a video by wednesday with me and the camaro racing. even with my gears and bolt ons i was really surprised of the outcome.

I have the ASP set up with no issues. although i only did the crank and water pump pulley, left the alternator alone. I have no problems during the summer and i have a stereo system and all. what would you gain from deleting the IMRC's? I have an SCT tune. a guy named Lee Blankenship did mine, out of shelbyville, KY

there was an altercation..
there was some trolling, then some spamming, then a DDoS attack..
although FSS denies the spam attack on here.

lol do they dislike LVC? or marks in particular? i have a lot of haters around where i live. all the mustang owners bash me and my buddies marks all the time. but wont line up with us on the street. smh
