Hey everyone. I just picked up some studded Firestone WinterForces and am looking for a steel wheel of our OEM size, with no luck. I already have the tires, because I just planned on mounting them to the OctaStars, but then thought how much easier it would be to just throw them on a set of steelies and just swapping them around for the seasons. So, do they make a steel wheel our size, or am I sol?

I don't remember ever seeing any. Can't remember the cougars or t-birds ever having hubcaps...

I've got a set of painted 10-spokes that would work perfectly as a winter set...

Hmm, that's a bummer. I only ended up getting 2 tires, for the rear, so I'm not sure if I really want another set of wheels now that I think about it. Don't really want to run OctaStars in the front, and another wheel in the rear. Screw it, I'll just swap them around every season.....

I'll give you a really good deal on the 10-spokes...

They've been sitting in the corner of my garage for almost 2 years now. When I got my FR500's, I put the chrome wheels on my 97, and took the painted ones off. If I wasn't hub-swapped, I'd put some track tires on a couple of them, but since I am, I can't...lol.

what size tire are you running out back? i was looking at the same, but chrome was going 295 40 18

1989-1993 Thunderbird and Cougar's had steel wheel options that would be a direct fit...

They would look soooo awful though.. Pure ugliness.. I'd find a cheap set of snowflakes ;)

That's true, but offset would probably look stupid...

not any more or less stupid than steel wheels. lol.
but mark wheels fit on a taurus ok. had to put some of my old wheels on my bro's sho for awhile and the were fine. so i'm sure you could go the other way.

andy a set of snowflakes would be your cheapest bet, people practically pay you to take them.

I'm almost willing to bet that my 10-spokes would be the cheaper...

I really want to get rid of them. I'm moving on the 18th, and really don't want to bring them with me.

The only thing that would suck is the shipping. Anyone ship a set of aluminum wheels lately and remember how much it was?

If you can, consider adding snow tires all the way around. I've done the rear only set up and the problem is stopping and turning if the snow gets bad.

Hmm, yea I may look into it for next season. Money is tight now, but what else is new, so I just got the 2 for now, and that ended up being more then I expected.... I may think about those 10 spokes as well.... I don't know.

Don't forget Greyhound Bus. They can really be cheap on large items.

im not trying to hurt a sale here, but he is my nephew, and i know how money is with him right now, and there aint no way in hell you could ship them 10 spokes to him, for less than what he can go get 2 snowflakes for in the boneyard. andy you got searle's on hamp stretch, jaws on 66 if they are still open, highway auto salvage on route 5 just past the oxbow going into hamp, plus all the numerous yards in springfield. you can easily get a set of snowflakes for around 20-30 bucks. or even better, go see Matt Gliniak JR. at matt's garage on south street behind old colony package store and tell him you are my nephew, tell him the mark VIII guys from fl sent you, he'll :q:q:q:q himself he probably has a million wheels.

if i had any left i would just give you a set, if you have no luck yourself i can get them locally all day long for pennies on the dollar plenty of them in our local years just let me know i can ship to up to you.

Alright. That would be sweet. Or maybe, I can use that as an excuse to come back down for a while!
