Found a like new Trac Loc out of a 1995 Mark VIII, should bolt right into my 1998 correct? Any modifications??

Just checking in case you didn't know, but if it's a stock diff, they never came with a Traction Lok in any Mark VIII so you'd need to install one in the pumpkin (housing)...

I'm thinkin he found a Mark with the Trac Asst button...if you're looking in salvage yards for gears, look to your Mustang GTs for the loc and Explorers for the ring and pinion

someone else can chime in about spline counts and how to set your lash on the gears, it's not terribly hard, I do it at work all the time

Guy sold his 95 Mark but pulled out the Trac Loc before he sold it. He's selling the rear diff with a 4:10 trac loc he had installed. Said the housing has around 100k on it, but the trac lock has about 7500 miles.

ok, that makes sense. It will fit, but you'd be wise to get a tuner to change shift points and speed limiter etc. Others will know more on whats needed for a gen 2...

leave it alone, but i'll post a link? you dummy!!! if you didnt post a link no one would ever know!!

Do you want 4.10s?

If you want it then buy it now!

Gear install kit: $100
Gears: $150
Used TL: $60-$100
Install: $300 or more

No problem mang. Thats a damn good deal if you wanted 4:10 gears.

You can slap it in yourself in an hour with no problem. :)

Be quicker than that! Use to be a Benz and Porsche Tech, before I went off on my own ventures! Could R&R a Benz Rear diff, re-build it, and have her driving in 1.5hr.

That's awesome. I used to be a tech at a German shop, and I'm putting a trac lock and 4:10's in my mark this weekend.

Will do. I gotta rebuild my diff and set it all up. I should have it back on the road Sunday. Good luck with your set up.

Wow nice find, one day I'll get all my little repairs done and throw some 3/73s in mine

you're deffinatly going to need a tune for 4/10s

That's what I hear, got a guy by the name of Greg Gilliam hooking me up. Guess he does all the tunes and dyno tunes for the Oklahoma SVT club.
