Walking back to my car after class my friend (who carpools with me) and I saw a guy sitting in the car. He climbed out and we apprehended him. The lady across the street from where I parked my car had called the cops and the cop was in her house at the time. He walked out and arrested the guy.

Anyway, does anyone know of a walkthrough on how to replace the window? I'm going to the junk-yard soon.

Hope you got some nice gut shots in before the cops took him.

That's when you just wrestle with him for a bit until the cop almost reaches him, then let him go so you can watch him get tazzed

Which window? Door?

It's the passenger side window. Looks like the clips are riveted in place though and the windows are glued into the clips.

I'm getting a window from greg later tonight but I need to take it out of the car. I'm figuring I'll just drill out the rivets.

Any ideas on that?

We each had one of his arms behind his back pretty firmly. He wasn't feeling too well.

the arm holding the window seems to be riveted also to the window motor.

Not sure what you mean by 'glass bolts"

There should be bolts that bolt to the clips on the glass that sit in window regulator track, but i could be wrong...if there riveted to window regulator have fun

Makes me want to get rid of my dd. Do you have wheels or any ext mods minus the tint? Playing your stereo to loud signaling all the thieves?

on a good note, having tinted windows does make the clean up a little easier, no matter how hard you try to clean up all of the damn glass, you always seem to find one last piece of glass the hard way even a couple of years later:(

and by the way, nice catching that lazy ass low birth weight son of a b!tch!

fukc theives.

too bad the cop was so close by, you and your friend could have performed a public service with a proper beat-down before he arrived. :q:q:q:qing weasels, if anyone laid a finger on my car and I caught them in the act, I would later plead insanity.

Gawd I hate thieves. It's not just the stuff they steal, it's the stuff they wreck getting to it. Bezel looks like it's toast. Glad ya caught him tho, I woulda probably curb-stomped him before the cops got there.
"He tripped and fell! You all saw that!"

Before you install the new doorglass, be sure to vacuum ALL the glass crumbs out of the door, at the glass shop where I work we have an attachment we made out of a piece of flexible half inch water line, lets ya get down into all the nooks and crannies. Above all, make sure that the fuzzy channel that the window slides in has absolutely no glass in it, be thorough. Just one of those little rhinestones will scratch the crap outta the new doorglass, and can even break it.

Good call thanks...

I just got back from greg's (GMAN) house. He gave me a new bezel and a new passenger side window.

The windows are freaking riveted in there... had to drill them out.

The thief at the scene ratted out the guys he was working with to the cop. Cop said it was a good bust and there should be some more arrests.

Thanks gman!!!

Not that I hope someone breaks into my car..but if they do, they better hope I don't catch them...I'm not the kind of person that calls police..I call friends that have had their car broken into as well

I'm all about Singapore style punishments

The last a$$hole that broke into my jeep got a Coon trap slammed around his little fingers, then got kicked in the face with my steel toe

Maybe if the USA wasnt a bunch of puss's we wouldn't have a lot of these problems... Start cutting their thieving hands off..perhaps they'll think twice before grabbing crap that don't belong to them

Glad you caught him before he could ruin your car anymore. You are lucky, at least you have all the parts to fix it now.

Holy sh!t dude! Makes me feel very glad that I took my DVD player off my truck a couple years ago! All my cars have regular thin style Pioneer stereos. I'm leaving them that way. They dont mess with my old school radios anymore!

Ain't THAT the dam truth!... Due to the pussification of America (liberal feel-good asshats making law), fuggin criminals have more rights than victims.

If the law was "an eye for an eye", maybe pos coward criminals would think twice.

Glad you got all your parts man, good luck on your fix. Two thumbs up for Gman, good on ya.

Another accomplice arrested today and files charged on 2 more.

window is already fixed. Need to put the door on and bezel and everything will be back to normal (except the tint and the scratch.)

...and I'm sure if he hurt him self on some " after market item, that wasn't properly installed" you would have a busted up car with a law suit on your hands
