Would anyone roll these 17's for $250

I have read about Jag using staggered wheels on some of their cars...I know this won't help your situation but for future reference does anyone think that would be the solution to wanting to add British parts to our cars?...... ok sometimes I can't help myself.

That's not bad. I'm seeing different sizes for the hub area, like 120mm ect... and I don't know that size. Mine are stock but anyway, I'm not real sure how far I need to come out. The spindle is what I meant. Mine are barely rubbing right in the center but it's the tire that has more of a grab. I'm thinking maybe 5/16's should get me off it. I guess I could try washers or something to find out where I need to be.

The spacers i got were universal so the hub size is big..But they work as well as a uni spacer can. I would not run anything bigger then a 5mm though w/o getting longer studs, which seems like more trouble then it's worth.

lol thanks I thought that what it was but I always thought it was called a hub.

The center is the hub, where the lugs are attached from the rear of the hub facing, the tall cast iron piece behind the hub is the spindle, the UCA and the LCA attach at top and bottom of spindle.

Thank you Bill, that top arrow you have is very close to where my wheel is rubbing, not the tire. Below is the pics of the weel and where it rubbed on the wheel and a pic of the spindle and where the TIRE was rubbing on the spindle.

Nothing rubbing up this high as you can see. This is with the stock 10's back on.

Does it look like 5mm will get me off the spindle?

Terry, that is not much rub on rim, I would say that a 5mm will work on spacing that out.

What you could do is take the front wheel off, and slip on a couple of flat washers on each lug and measure for exact distance needed to know for sure how much spacer you need. At least that is what I would do anyway.

I thought about that but my son had just jumped off the bus when I was putting the last wheel on and then I turned on the air ride, started rolling out of the garage and I heard the sound of two tires rubbing together and felt a slight grind.

What you see on the wheel is an extreme light shaving. Might look kinda bad but it's really not at all. I didn't even do a full revolution when I heard that and I backed it back in. The wheel grind is so minimal, I could take the grinder and knock out that spot on the spindle without any worries of messing with the integrity of the spindle but if I get the tire rub to stop, no need in grinding.

I had to feed the kid and get him on his homework and I have millions of washers but none that fit a lug lol. I'm really thinking it's going to take about 8mm to get the tire off the spindle.

Well, you could do that, but as the kid goes to school tomorrow, take a shot at a washer or two. And you also have the tire rub on the neck of the spindle too, and if you let that go, you are going to heat up that sidewall and possibly create a wear marking all away around it.

I had that issue on a Ranger once where the tire rubbed the spindle because of incorrect B/S, and after a couple hundred miles, I blew the inside bead out do to over heating the sidewall.

And to be honest Terry, I would not even run those rims and tires, I personally do not care for them, I like the 10 spokers better on your car. But it is not my car.

Come over to chat with us, we are on now.

5mm will be enough it looks like but the main thing is youneed to spend more money for the right kind of spacers. They need to be hub centric or you will always have a vibrating steering wheel.

True that, no lies there. And WTF Bill is up with that floating pointer on your sig area. IIFWM, stop it!

I got the spacers today that were needed for the front and mounted them. They were spinning free with no rubbing. Now the problem is, the tires have seen their better days. 235/50/ZR17 Michelin Pilots made in 2000 lol. They have some tread but just looking at them, you can't see the lumpiness but once mounted and spinning, they have lumps on the crown.

The wheels all spin straight and perfect but they need new tires. After a short wobble and bounce down my road, I backed into the garage and took them off and put my stock 10's back on for now. I really didn't trade for them, expecting like new tires because the ad did say the tires were older. The wheels are in what I would consider a 9/9.5 out of 10 condition. I have them stacked in the corner of the garage until I decide on new tires or to sell them. No rush right now on either.

Just my opinion for the class look the octastars nail it and for the performance look the 20 spoke chrome directionals rock it...I do like the jag rims though...makes the Mark look refined.

it may be the camera angle but it looks like they need like a 3/4 - 1 inch spacer as they look "sucked in"

I do agree, They do need or I would like for them to be out flush because I like the flush look with that style wheel but that's 20 studs to be replaced, 4 hub centric spacers to be bought & tires. I know many "don't know" that I have an 8 year old to support on my own and he comes first before that car ever will. Don't take that as a complaint or anything, I'm just sayin, it's gonna be a while before I can deal with those wheels.

Also, the Lincoln center cap does not fit. I tried it today and it's just a hair too large. It matched the wheel perfect but diameter was too large and I didn't force it.

ratdog, I wanted Octis, I had three Octis and bought a 4th one to go with the three I had on the burned car but the scrap guys that took the car did not bring the wheels back. I don't have a clue where they live. They took the 93 first and asked me what I wanted off of that one and I told them the steering wheel. They brought back the entire wheel and column.

They got the 94 with 3 good Octis on it and asked what I wanted back. I explained..... They haven't been seen since. I sold the one I bought to another member on here because I can't be spending $400 and $600 for Octis. The Jag wheels were free. Octi's aren't in CL around here for trade.

if you ever find them in Nashville on CL...let me know.

With all that you'd need to do to get them to fit/look right I too feel it's not worth the trouble. Add tires and you mine aswell save up for a new rim/tire combo of you're choice.
