I can appreciate that. I feel the same when I do my sh*t also. I have trust in what I do, and I know what I did when I did it. For another to do something on my car is like babysitting. I would in my mind not be satisfied until I went over everything they touched or fixed to double check what they did or touched. And in the end I would of been better off just doing it myself. And if it breaks or fails after, then I did it, no one else and I can be cool with that. But if I let someone else do it then I would be pissed at myself for letting someone else do what I should of done myself.

Ok, so... at this point we need to determine whether we will be in your way at your shop or not! It's impossible that 15 MK8 owners can help you effectively! I've already asked for the time off, my wife has done so as well, my father has changed his work schedule around so we are going no matter what. We probably won't spend too much time in your way at the shop as the truth is, with people around WE WILL SLOW YOU DOWN! Jamie, I agree, you should do things at your own pace, afterall it's your car! no one elses! Do what you need to do. Hopefully I finally get to meet yo' nasty @ss!!!

It does make sense now since he is going to be dropping the trans to go ahead and do the rear end at the same time. He had no clue that the trans was going to fail right at the time of a meet. He needs his car for transportation but at the same time, he has other things that was going in also.
1. A better trans is going in. I'm assuming a stall too but idk.
2. New gears in the rear end.
3. Intake and valve covers swapped out.
If I was in his position, I'd have to drop out of the meet too and get it done while the time was there to do it. Anyone that was going to the meet could go by and visit him at the shop but I know him all too well and honestly, he would rather just be left alone unless maybe one wanted to help out but I have been in his shop while he was working and he's NON-STOP and one's help would really be getting in his way except for the trans swap. He could do it alone but another person does make it easier. Other than that, he'll be able to knock it out on his own.
Maybe those of you that were going to the meet could re-locate it away from the truck meet. I'm sure there are plenty of places around there to go. If the meet is held in his parking lot, there is plenty of room but like he said, leave him alone lol. He hates like hell to stop and chit chat while he's doing something.
Jamie, I was only trying to find you a trans for cheap. I would trust a 98 trans from the JY listed as "A" condition before I would an engine but you have one coming so that's a done deal. The other thing I didn't understand was throwing a cover over it and doing without all because there was no money for a stall but again, it's not mine and we all want different things. Myself, I wouldn't do a stall but that's something you want and I was looking at it as "needing transportation" and saving money. Now that I have seen your plan, I'm all for it and when you're done, there should be a huge difference. Hopefully you have something to replace the Sniper tune with or it's gonna be all out of whack.

i have a new computer thats all set up to my car from brandon. everything is all set and the sniper computer is gonna go to the person why bought my sniper tuner. i cannot afford a converter right now the prices on them are way too much money for me at this time so i have to keep the stock converter in it, as bad as i dont want to, my money tree died along time ago. i offered for everyone to come to the shop cuz i feel bad that i have to cancel at the last minute, but right now its about my priorities and not about the meet. if you guys want to get together there are tons of awesome places up this way, check out anderson park in tarpon springs online or even john chestnut park in palm harbor both awesome parks and free. anderson park is a few miles from my shop and you guys could still come by and chew the fat for a little bit, i do take breaks!! i just cant worry about the meet right now, i am sorry specially to you alex for taking time off to come up, but you can still come up here, make a weekend vacation, hell, pinellas county is a gorgeous area, thats why i live here, beats that crappy miami area you are used to! i would love to get a few pics of all them marks in my shop parking lot though! that would make my day anyway.

:I Agreed with the above stated... however at this point I'm backing out. Maybe 2012 is the year or maybe we can do it in September! My company did NOT pay me yesterday due to lack of funds!:shifty: I'm worried that it's going under. 2 people quit cold turkey yesterday including the payroll assistant that knows the kind of money that rolls around the company. I asked her if I should be worried, she told me to run! She stated that next week we would get paid but afterward would be hell! At this point after spending 11 months unemployed I am not looking forward to the unemployment line again.

i understand they are my friends, at the same time your statement is horse :q:q:q:q rich, the problem here is people are trying to get me to slap my car together in one day so i can make a stupid car meet, its not about jamie getting his car fixed, its about getting jamie to fix his car in lightning speed so i can please everyone and still have the meet. the meet is not going to have me present, period, end of story, there is no reason to keep this dragging out , am i wrong for cancelling, is it the end of the world because my car is broken and i wont have it fixed in time to make the meet happen, wtf??????????????????????????????????????????
for the 10th time, my trans has to be replaced, i got the doner today, i cant get my gaskets till monday, i :q:q:q:qing work full time, i dont know how many times i have to write that, a real job, not my shop, when i say i am going to work, that means i go to work for someone other than myself, punch a time card, and work 40 hours, i am changing my intake, my valve covers, my rear differential, front end parts some of them, its not gonna be done to go to a meet, so i dont know why some cant understand, i am doing all this now, so i dont have to drag it out, and its not a weekend job to do all this, so i dont know what is so hard to understand that this is gonna take me a few weekends. i am not bitching about anyone helping me, i dont want help, i want to be left alone so i can fix my god damn car without feeling like i killed a bunch of people for cancelling a meet, give me a break.

Jamie ... we all work ... we all have real Jobs (some unlucky members lost their jobs - which sucks worse) ... We all have our issues with our cars (some a lot more) ... We all have to use our own time to work on our cars (sometimes taking months or even years) ... We all have to squeeze our car work in around the rest of our lives and our families ... And most of us do this on our backs in our driveways or our small garages ... We don't have shops to take our cars too.
But I felt that it was nice that these people are trying come to your assistance because you have helped people out and because you make posts of how you work so hard for others but nobody ever helps you.
You planned this meet to get people together then because you want your car to be perfect so you can so it off to all these people at the meet your car takes a crapper. (That sucks) ... So these guys realize that you have done so much that they want to come and help you out. To try to make your life better and so that you can have your big meet that you planned for them. Then just because you can't have your car there you pull the plug out on the meet after people had made plans to come.
Then they say ... Hey let's go help Jamie out let's go to his place and help him work on his car. But Jamie says no can't do that ... I don't want people around me when I work on my car. Again these people are trying to help Jamie out ... After Jamie has posted that no one ever comes through for Jamie, but Jamie bends over backwards to help everyone out. Here they are for you ... Here are your friends .... Here are the people who want to help Jamie out to show Jamie the kindness that he shows everyone else.

omg lol,how far would you be able to get on your car if 10 people were all in the way????????????????? i dont need help to fix my transmission, when i was bitching about help it was financial bitching, not labor i cant turn wrenches till my hands fall off i dont need a ton of people standing around trying to bull:q:q:q:q with me while i am concentrating on fixing my car. and as far as all the people who go to the beach party with whatever they have, thats :q:q:q:qing great , i dont have anything else, this is my car and when its broken i have to get a ride, or make my wife and kids get up 90 minutes earlier to bring me to work, and then pick me back up in the evening, so good for them being able to drive other things, i dont have that privelage. i cant believe i am the bad guy because my car broke, and god forbid i want to fix it, on my weekends , the only time i have to do it, and now i am a pos because i cancelled the meet, lmfao good i am glad this happenend because its the last time i ever bring up a meet, you guys can all plan your own meets now and leave me out of them, i'm trying to fix my :q:q:q:qing car and now i am a dickhead because i wont just shove the car to the side and go to a meet lol, unreal.

I think I speak for all of us when I say we can all get frustrated with our cars at times. I have only been on this site for almost 3 years and have seen a whole lot of great people helping each other and having a good time. Definatly one of the best forums I have ever been a part of.
