Reference Ratdog's question:

It's a GM product - Vauxhall Lotus Carlton - they fetch pretty good money these days. Was hailed as the fastest production saloon of it's time.

Well I'm a Subaru driver so Mitsu is kinda the enemy AWD camp. Plus I can't stand the dashboards in the Mitsubishi's

I definitely prefer the looks of the older Imprezza's to those of the EVO series - The Imprezza 22B was a good looking beast!

By next weekend I'll own both... But I still think Gen1s are smarter, for simplistic reasons
You're simplistic and not smarter.
If you ever drove an LS youd throw that ancient mark to the side.

At least we dont spend more money on fixing our cars than their book value....LOL.
I have driven and even had a LS V8 demo car. They are OK cars. Pretty peppy and nice features. They are bland though and seem to be more problematic then the Marks. Also I am just sick of seeing them. See them more often then Maximas.

As for cost of fixing them being more then book, there is a large age difference between the two cars. Also Marks tend to have more miles because people drive them cause they are fun to drive. Plus they last forever. LS cars as a whole dont have as many miles car for car because they wont last and there is no passion in them.
Sure I spent double book on my mods but thats because the car evokes passion. The car is fun and still looks modern. It takes well to modifications.
The same cant be said for LS cars. They are kinda bland, look dated and mods are very limited and dont do much.
Name one desireable classic muscle car with more than two entry doors in the last forty years.
Ill try a few. Caddy CTS-V, STS-V, 300C SRT, Charger SRT, AWD SHO, now these are not really "muscle cars" because by definition a muscle car is a mid/compact two door with a motor from the companies larger 4-door cars.
Those VR4's were fun as hell. Especially when that second turbo kicked in at around 2500 RPM.

Always wanted one in my younger years. Now, though... not so much.
The Galant VR4 was a single turbo.

Yeah my tuner has a nice 2 door GC Impreza that is getting this in it...

900WHP range and not only is he going for 9 second pump gas records but the Texas Mile record for Subaru too

6hp per ci is freakin insaine! And that thing has one hell of a timing belt!

Yeah Cosworth Heads and Crank plus some secret new cam grinds
Think it's gonna be in the 60PSI or so boost range :shifty:
Also is gonna have a clutchless 6 speed trans for nice fast shifting...

Before the cage and Carbon Fiber Doors went on.

60psi!? Good grief! Gonna need some serious intake hose couplings. No standard silicone with hose clamps for that bish!

Yeah they even use Stainless Steel tubing instead of Aluminum for the intercooler piping. Can't wait for this thing to get on the Dyno so I can video it.
Going after the guys who were setting records in PR a lil while ago.

Pretty sad when a AWD car is lifting the front tires on launch :eek2:

Exactly.

Don't get me wrong, they are nice automobiles. If I were a 4 door car kinda guy, I'd rock one.

That's what I am at.. The only one that beats it is the over 200k S65 AMG.. Which is an amazing car also..

I will get a CLS someday.. I like the sportiness as compared to the S65.. Just personal preference..

Considering what Frogs about to buy, a F-14 is slow

What did I miss?!?

65 is "sportier" IMHO. But, to each his own. Nothing wrong with that.

What did I miss?!?

Don't worry 'bout it.

I guess to each his own.

I dont see many ls's and when i do the majority are stock...but i love seeing them because i can appreciate someone who has the class to drive a lincoln.

Everything you said in my opinion is more true about the mark vs the ls. The only advantage it has over the ls is the engine mods and thats because its a popular ford engine.

I really dont see how a fully loaded vehicle with hids, nav, dual climate control, independent rear suspension, heated/cooled leather seats front and rear, semi-auto transmission, backup sensors, adjustable pedals, and adjustable seats could be called bland.

marks have more miles because they are older....by a whole decade. We have plenty of passion for our cars as you guys have for marks. The mark doesnt look very modern to me especially the interior of it.

I plan on keeping mine for a while and dont see myself getting rid of it.

Sounds like every new Honduh, Toyota, Hyundai and Kia out there.
