Anyone know the sizes of the orings I would need to reseal my front bags? Got a slow leak after pulling them out and dont want to burn up my compressor prematurely.

Thanks guys.

Mike

Yea, I know he does......

I am wanting to get this taken care of ASAP. That being said, I don't have time to wait for them. I suppose I'll have to take one out, and go to ACE.

ace does have them.. thats where i got mine but dont recall which ones i got.

i heard all you have to do is put slime in em and they won't leak anymore!

Thanks caprice..... I'll just go that route.

I AM going to slime the bags Jeb. Just to get me by till I can afford new ford units.

Thanks guys!

A friend of mine used the closest ones in an AC O-ring set (the green ones) from Autozone, they leaked pretty shortly thereafter. So yeah I'd probably avoid those.

I know you're set on getting them from somewhere quickly and cheap, and I ordered the O rings from Eddie a while back... I think it only took 2 days to get to me. Not bad for regular mail

Most any parts house will hve an oring box, just take one with you, buy a few so you'll have spares for next time...
Don't use the green AC orings

Thanks sapp,

I'm a store manager for advance auto. I know for a fact that we don't have the correct size. We have an industrial hose and fitting shop here in town, I'll be trying there.

Thanks again

Mike

That's what I had to do to the wife's '97 LSC. the d/s lasted 8 more months before I replaced it. The p/s is still going strong, but it will be replaced next month. Just be very careful to clean the solenoid housing and don't get any of the stuff on your solenoids. You don't want it getting into your air lines. Once it's in the bag, it will settle to the bottom and temporarily seal the small dryrot cracks along the fold. After it has settled in the fold of the spring, there's virtually no possible way for it to get into your air lines from that point. And the last time I bought o-rings, I just got them from the local Ford dealership. They had them in stock and they cost about $4 each. Not cheap, but I needed them like yesterday at the time.

Well,

Front end is FIXED.

New Orings to seal the solenoids......and 12oz of green tire slime in each bag.

I notice it also raises and lowers quicker with the room taken up by the slime. In addition to that, I am also noticing slightly increased spring rate because of it too. Mind you.......I'm not leaving it like that, it's just to make it till I can afford to throw NEW oem struts under it.

Ah,I NEED to do this to mine as well. So what size did try wind up being?

Oh no!!! Another slimer!!! Git yer pitchforks and torches!!! Join the club dude. Now where's all the crap that usually gets slung around here at people who slime their bags???

Anyway, it works as a temporary band-aid until you can get new ones. Glad to see I'm not the only one who's done it:)

No, we respect Mike so we will let him slime..... er, slide.

As for the o-rings, when we did my gears we pulled the rear solenoids to vent the bags (not sure why) and the next day when I went to work the car was on its arse in the driveway. Being in the middle of nowhere caused me to have to be creative. I used an oring from the cap on a pen sized flashlight. Been in there about 8 months now!
I forgot about it till just now.

when i was on bags i tried getting slime in em but couldnt figure out how. For the life of me i couldnt get the little hose manuvered inside the hole. So i just squeezed the bag, poured it in and released my grip so it would suck it in. Did that like 10 times but said f it. Went to lowered coils.
