Front solenoid o-rings....

So 12 days later, you finally found some O-rings that work? How long would it have taken to order a set from Eddie, let alone be assured that they're the right TYPE? There are big differences in materials. Viton, Buna-N, PTFE, Silicone, to name a few. Not all are proper for the job.

I don't even want to know WTF green slime is.

I did order them from Eddie, and for your esteemed information, they took 5 days to get to me. (Not Eddie's fault nor am I complaining.) Not everyone can afford to buy EVERY little thing their car needs; when it needs it.

I don't know who you are, and I really don't care to if you're gonna be like that.

STFU

Sorry, I can be a real dick sometimes (just ask the guys in the politics forum). I was concerned about the fact that you were talking about going to Ace to pick up some O-rings, and then having it fail again because you got the wrong material or not the exact size. It does matter.

i tried getting slime in em but couldnt figure out how. For the life of me i couldnt get the little hose manuvered inside the hole. So i just squeezed the bag, poured it in and released my grip so it would suck it in.

Im getting you this for Christmas:

That's about the only way to do it. You'll never be able to get a tube into that port. I did mine the same way you did and it worked fine.

That kinda talk you would think Marcus was the one who slimed his bags :p

Friends don't let friends slime :D

I get a touch upset with those who throw out a "holier than thou" vibe when theydon't have all the information they need to comment correctly. And if need be.....I'll slime the rears as well.

There is NO reason that I can think of NOT to do it to get you by for a little bit.

I agree. But don't fret, there are plenty of folks on here who will bombard you with tons of reasons not to:D

And how long have you "temporarily" had slime in yours now?

In a few years there will be a few used Marks with crap in their air rides and new members coming on here saying "Did the factory put some green gunk in the suspension?" or "My air ride stopped working, how do I refill the green stuff?" :(

Well, on the '97 LSC, about 8 months. I was finally able to replace the D/S front air spring/shock last month and should be able to replace the P/S first of the year. Parting with $186 bucks on something that doesn't involve food or gas is difficult in my household.

As for the '96, I put a little in them as a preventative measure back in Jan or Feb 2009 when they were brand new and so far not one singe issue.

Actually, if it's done properly, none of it will ever enter the solenoids or air lines. It's virtually impossible since the green goop settles to the bottom of the spring and unless you turn your car upside down, it will never enter the air lines. So unless somebody actually puts the stuff in their lines on purpose:eek:, that will not be an issue.

Slime your rear...that just don't sound right.

:D

I understand the dislike for the "holier than thou" vibe, also fully understand doing what it takes to get by.
I am sure I have been guilty of that attitude.

One thing that spins my bearings is telling someone its a "good idea" for a fix.
I am not saying anyone here is.

These cars are filtering down, getting cheap to buy.
Problem is they are not cheap to fix.

If somebody's air ride is shot and the poor bastage can't afford bags, they can spring it with parts from a local bone yard for a pretty low price and some hard work.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to find that info on this site.
