Yes, if he goes through with it then you will lose your place. ...... actually, he has taken that honor of doing the dumbest thing.

Sorry RC, you have to be one of us commoners now. :D

I got a better ideal, drive the mark to the truck, then sell the mark to the first person that you can find with $100 in their pocket, then drive the truck home. now lets think about it

$100 cash for the car
$150 cash in you pocket from not having to buy a hitch
$100 cash in your pocket from not having to have the mark towed somewhere when it sh!ts its trans right out the back
$thousands$ saved from not having to have the trans rebuilt

and one less mark taken to the grave, its a win win win situation

or just buy a $200 honda or neon to drive out there to leave somewhere when you get to the truck to drive it home!

for the price of the hitch(150), trailer($?$?), gas to get there(it cost me about $160 to drive 1200 miles), and the extra gas wasted towing back, how the hell can you not buy a plane ticket, not only is it safer and cheaper, its got to be a hell of a lot faster even if you have to take three planes.

i feel like a rocket scientist on this board sometimes, ...

Now THAT is funny! :D

EDIT: In my '96 manual, it shows circuit 480 (P/Y wire) on pin 3 of the transmission bulkhead connector going to pin 54 of the PCM. The power is from the red wire (circuit 361) and is hot with the key on.

Thanks, this is the information I was looking for. I made this modification on another vehicle I previous used for towing and it worked out well. The vehicle has well over 500k miles on it and still tickin along.

Instead of using the Lincoln, I may rent a Prius to tow with.

THESE CARS ARE NOT MEANT FOR TOWING......LET ALONE SOMETHING HEAVIER THAN THE FUGGING CAR YOUR TOWING WITH!!!! Are you kidding me???

Oh Fu(k it...we need more parts cars in Tx anyway...

Just turn the OD off before your trip...DO NOT tow with OD on...

Keep in mind tho man, that the brakes are barely adequate for the vehicle alone...good luck
I'm gonna come meet you when you get to Tx! :-)

with od off that allows the tc to slip at certain points causing additional heat, there was a big thread about this somethng with driving with od off being bad

Yup, OD off is not good. You only use that for moderate hill decients and to avoid a 4-2 kick down.
I remapped my trans tune and eliminated the constant state slipping and also have it command 3rd gear for a half second before hitting 2nd when downshifting from 4th when I go to pass people.

So OP, turn it off! Dumb ass.

Hmm ok, I've heard in trucks to turn it off when towing...but I don't drive a truck!! I drive a MARK8...so I don't TOW anyway! So I don't care!!!! Despite what my commercial says
