Yeah Yeah, I know - no one likes Autozone/Advance Auto - but I got a coupon to save 20 bucks, so this is gonna cost me 35, and its next to my house.

The Brand is Felpro... anyone heard/used it?

Also, Im thinking I should paint my valve covers while they are off.. you know, just for the hell of it. Is there anything else worth working on while Im in there and everything is apart?

have fun with that job, you might want to get ahold of derek lmfao

LOL Yeah, Ive heard its a handful but its about time I learn how to fix my own car, and since this is just a matter of taking :q:q:q:q off and putting :q:q:q:q back on, It might be a good task to start with... plus if I need help ur pretty close right ;)

I am getting ready to tackle this deed on my 94 also and I went with fel-pro gaskets too! Good luck with yours:)

Im thinking - If I have to remove the brake master cylinder - wont I need to bleed the brake lines after?

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'll sell you my hammer. Regardless of what the search function tells you DO NOT USE BRUTE FORCE AT ALL!!! DO NOT PULL HARD ON THE VALVE COVER. If it doesn't slide off easy, then figure something else out.

You don't need to remove the master cylinder.

I think it was DLF that said to partially (or fully can't remember) pull the engine mount bolt. That makes the most sense. Doing the master cylinder thing was insane and required so much work under the dash. You have to be a contortionist to get to it.

Why would you need to go under the dash to remove the master cyl? Just wondering what you are thinking? Most of this car is a pita to work on, but don't buy trouble and make it harder than it needs to be.

derek you go under the dash to remove the brake booster, but the master cylinder is only two 13 mm nuts holding the master to the booster. and you dont need to bleed anything if you remove the master from the booster, you leave the lines hooked up to the master still, if you undo the lines then yes you'll have to bleed, but there is no reason to undo the lines from the master. all i did on my 98 when i powdercoated my valve covers was move the master over an inch or so, move the engine harness from the driver cover and removed the power steering res can and bracket, cover came right off i never touched my motor mount.
