Ripped Camel's motor progress 2

I stopped by there saturday afternoon, around 2pm. Unfortunately, nobody was home. Car was sitting outside. Looked ok. That 94 is just about torn up.

derriks car wasnt sitting outside, thats a silver frost 97 that needs to be parted out, but i cant start that project till i get derrik's car done. i worked all night on derriks car thats why i wasnt there at 2, i was sleeping. its so much easier working over night, its not hot like it is right now, and no one is around to bug me at night!

well, here are my progress pics from yesterday. the motor and tranny are in, all hooked up, driveshaft is in, gas tank is in, front end is back together, all i got left is dumb stuff like wiper mechanism, hood, lower bumper valance, and exhaust. i need to fill the oil, p.s fluid, top off the trans, fill the coolant again, and dump some gas in it and start it. figured i'd post the pics now before i leave again. i worked from midnight friday, to 10:45 saturday morning, slept from 11:30 am till 4 pm, then went back and worked from 5 pm till 3 am this morning, now i'm off to the shop again. you can see that i acctually did stuff like cleaned the timing cover, it was so greasy dirty, i used an air grinder with a special bit that holds a piece of scotch brite, we use it inside the parts washer tank it works awesome. i took the oil pan off and cleaned it, the oil filter adapter plate, the valve covers, the imrc's, everything that came off got scrubbed and cleaned.

i just put a chain around the radiator core support and lifted the car up high enough to clear under the frame and rolled the motor into place.

actually i'm kind of glad we missed each other, no offense to you obviously, but i hate being bothered when i am that deep into something, even my wife wont come down, she dropped off a bottle of coke for me last night so i didnt have to lock up just to get soda, and she didnt stay, she knows i get irritated quickly. i dont like to stop working to b.s and i dont like to b.s while i work!!

I'm the exact same way when I'm working on something. If anyone is there its like they are totally in the way and irritating. Just leave me be and lemme get the job done. My wife knows how it is too. She wont even walk into the garage if I'm working on something anymore. lol

Good luck with everything and Ill say a lil prayer to the Car God's that everything turns out smooth for ya.

I agree... visitors are only aloud when they are ready to dig in WITHOUT needing instruction.

Oh my god it's done!!!!!

after derrik comes and gets the car in a little bit, i am firing up my webber grill and slapping a few porter houses on it, and wackin down a 6 pack of my choice! yummy yummy this :q:q:q:qing car is done. its actually in front of my house right now. i drove it home just to make sure everything was kosher. it fired right up, i primed the injectors like 3 times and turned the key and she came alive! i didnt really doubt my work was gonna fail me, it was just awesome to hear it run again! i even went ahead and washed the pile, i had greasy ass hand prints all over the front end, and sitting in the shop for almost a month made it look like doo doo also. i popped as much of the dent out of the front fender as i could its better but not perfect! well, thats it i guess this has been the worst 3 weeks of my life i think, now i can hopefully move on and get back to my own crap!
the first video had profanity, be warned!!!

AND DON'T USE HAMMERS ON ENGINES :D

As I've said numerous times Jamie I can't thank you enough. I really appreciate all the work that you've put into it. She seemed to drive good, it was hard to really gauge much because it was raining so hard on the way home. But so far so good :)

It's actually surreal for it to sit in front of my house now.

I've seen the furniture cart method used a lot, not sure I have ever seen a creeper under an engine too, but if it works. I hope he took good care of you Jaime.

well in the heat of re-assembly i must have forgot to tighten the 13 mm bolt that holds the idler pulley to the timing cover!! derrik called me and told me something launched off the car today. he sent me a picture and i knew right away it was the idler pulley. i pulled the bolt for it off my rosemist parts car and drove an hour out to derrik's and put it back on for him. if thats my only F-up we're good lol! in a perfect world it wouldnt have happend, but what can i say, i'm far from perfect!! oh well, it was a nice ride out there and back though. derrik had a boner looking over my car at the gas station. even his wife made him feel good the other night and asked him why his car cant look like mine lol, thats rough!! he's gonna get some :q:q:q:q at the cook out and meet though!!!

Something launched off the car? Please tell me he didnt drive it like that......

yes he limped it home but i was suprised the belt stayed on the car lol, it didnt come off, there just wasnt as much tension on the belt as normal but it didnt damage anything thankfully! and he got the pulley too, he pulled over when he heard something bang under the hood so all is good i fixed it, and its cool!

Yeah it was actually kind of comical. The car seemed really slow and sluggish when I got it back. So as I was making a right turn onto my street today there was a loud clunk, and then I see a round thing come flying out from under my car...somehow ended up bouncing down the street parallel to my drivers window and actually was going so fast it passed my car! HAHAHAHA!

I chased it down and got it...completely unsure of what the hell just happened. I pulled it into my spot and was oblivious to what the thing was from because the car was running no differently than when I picked it up. so I picture texted it to Jamie. He knew exactly what it was.

After he came and fixed it tonight (because the bolt was nowhere to be found so I couldn't do it) the car is running MUCH better now...so far ;) HAHAA

omg jamie thats awsome that u did that for ripped dude u owe him ur ballins in a sling for all that damn work ......LOL
