What did you do to your LS today?

Felt froggy and scrubbed the **** out of my dash door panels and console. I wish i had before pictures because it was in terrible shape. Im not impressed with the rust on the speaker cover on the doors. I am planning on spraying them black or color match the top part of the vinyl near the window.

Since I successfully changed out the center vent , I now want to tackle the ash tray problem. I found this thread http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/for...in-03-for-free but after removing the ash tray (removable actual ash tray and the housing it slides in on, I still dont find what is referred to, as a broken off nub) Do I have to completely remove the Center Console Shifter & Ashtray Surround/Bezel to get to the part he is referencing. The fact that it doesn't close drives me crazy. I see another (used) ash tray on ebay for $15 but not sure what problem I am trying to rectify, since I can't see the problem. Do I have more to remove?

I sold mine today...!!

got what i paid for it minus the cost of front sway bar bushings/rubbers and oil changes.

got close to 12K miles for almost the price of gas :)

2004 autumn red,..

premium sport.

got $2200 for it.

ONE day on CL and it sold !!

Thanks Joegr but I went with the black on purpose. I am replacing the dual climate controls with a black one and painting the top vents black.... eventually..

I really need an ls guy to help me... 292 county road 682 Sullivan ohio 44880 2 hours from Detroit north of Mansfield south of Cleveland..I've been broke down 6 weeks again

Moved to Florida, on the drive down, got an average 26.5 mpg over 1500 miles!!

Thanks for spending your valuable 3 seconds for my benefit :) (Seriously I do appreciate it) Yeah I could have done that but sometimes I prefer the interaction which results from a question to the group. And now I have another question which I think this group is greatly suited to answer.

The new clockspring I got is made by Dorman. I noticed when I attached it to the multifunction switch that the 3 tabs supposed to hold them tight together are a silly millimeter too short to accomplish that simple task (thanks a lot, dorman). So if I use this as is the two parts are not solidly connected. I've looked at the situation pretty carefully and it does not appear this will be a problem as the outer hockey puck rotational element still does not rotate when it shouldn't, something these tabs would surely prevent. So I'm going to install it this way, but thought Id run it by and see if anyone thinks this is a big mistake? Another dorman would probably have the same defect.

Cleaned the **** out of my seats. This is just step one. I am going to steam them tomorrow and use a proper leather cleaner then condition them with a quality conditioner. .This is the most satisfying job ive done on the LS and I just did my plugs and coils lol.Before/After pics below

Yeah maybe so. I've got the thing pretty much back together and I notice that the MFSwitch + clockspring is rather loosey-goosey on the steering wheel shaft. Doesn't seem right.

2000 LS Ultimate with LSE conversion.
2002 LSE side skirts, rear bumper, & spoiler.
2006 LSE front bumper ans folding mirrors.

All back together. Turns out the upper and lower steering wheel plastic surrounds are what holds the MF+CS in place. (Those are some nasty TLAs there. )

Gotta road test it yet but all seems good in garage.

To RollinLS above: Nice job. Are there still sources for the LSE kits etc (as if). But if there are and if and when I get my 5 speed autumn red 2001 running I will look into that.

Now I have to replace the (guess what?) on my silver bullet 2000 LS. The passenger rear door window regulator! Yep keepin busy After that gotta get back to the carburetor I am rebuilding for my 1989 Honda PC800 Pacific Coast motorcycle.

Not bad service! That one was replaced under warranty about 15 years ago!! We did the left rear a coupe of years ago with a Dorman unit. We did one of the fronts, but we don't remember which.

Hey is that you, Beemer4me? :) Yea that's a good long time for these. It looked like it had been done by dealer service cause the water dam paper was replaced very carefully. The rear regulator is very different from the front and much easier to do I discovered. I've never done a rear before but have done several fronts.

IMHO the rears are worse. The window "snaps" into a post on the window.. It's very disconcerting!!
