Has anyone ever seen Mark VIII door handles that DO NOT have counter weight's Like this. I think it's kind of obvious that most will answer NO. I'm just wondering if anyone can dispute this. I'm trying to take care of someone and I don't want to send him something that WILL NOT work. I pulled these off of a 94 Mark VIII I bought 6/7 years ago and parted. The car only had 87,000 miles on it and I think it would be odd that he would have had to replace both doors in the cars 9/10 year life. But maybe he did. Thanks for any insight.

That's wacky. All I can say. Ok.......... there is no pivot thingy........... That's wacky. JJJAAAAAMMMMMIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

If anyone has seen it he has.

Jamie says they are Conti and will work. I know Sapperfire swapper a Conti chrome handle onto his housing and it sticks in the up position but the other side he also used the housing and it works fine. His also have weights on them. Aparently the early Contis didnt have weights but the latter ones after 98 did. Sapperfires are the latter weighted ones.

I am sure they will work fine though. Ill try and use the stock Mark housing and just hope all is good. Thanks for the help mang.

If they don't, we'll work it out. I just find it very strange that the car only had 87,000 miles on it and he had to replace both handles. I just looked at the title I had for it and it was 2001, making the car only7 years old at the time. The handles are starting to break more frequently these days, because they're getting so much older. I'm not saying that we weren't dealing with door handles breaking back then, it just wasn't anything like it is today. The guy that I bought the car from was the only owner before me and he never mentioned it. But, if jamie says so, it must be true.

I will prolly only use the handle since its a different color as long as they can be interchanged. I will see when they get here.

i just replaced mine on my 96 the old one looked like that the new ford handle had the weight on it

i already answered this they are exactly the same minus the counter weight, they will work just fine no reason to reinvent the wheel here i have some of them in my garage that i personally removed out of 2 different continentals and they fit the mark VIII exactly the same. no reason to worry. bill you can remove the handle from the housings and switch them into yours also.

They should work as long as the pivot points are the same
