theI've read that snowflake center caps can be used for upper perches; can they be used for lowers also?
I found these on the auction site from a '93, do these look like they came from a snowflake?

they're from a '93...

Haha..now that's ingenuity right there IF they work..yes those are snow flake center caps..you should be able to just go to a junkyard and pick up a set for like 10 bucks..I wouldn't pay anything for those if at all possible though. Youll have to drill a hole in the center with a bolt and nut to secure them to the top..it'll be tough to mount them up top..there isn't much room at all up there to get a nut in as youll see when you take your air bags out. Bottoms should be a breeze, don't see why they wouldn't work down there.

I can get 2 of em shipped for $16.....slightly better than what others charge for perches...I already have isolators

Or you can do like I said and wait until next weekend and I can send you some from a sprung mark for the cost of shipping. :shifty:

This is post has gone on long enough for talk about buying some springs. Don't you think Doppler Dan? Just buy some springs already. Either you buy them from Strutmasters or American Air, it makes no difference one way or the other. You wont know the difference. I suspect your car is just a daily driver like most of us. Buy Eibach springs for Thunderbird or Vogtland, and use either KYB struts which is what I have or Tokico, again, it makes no difference. I figure you probably need standard ride height. I can send you a set of standard ride height for $350 shipped.

Gregg.. he has springs and shocks, he only needs a set of perches for the rear springs. I like the price of your STOCK stuff too man that's classic

see post 4....I got those shocks and isolators w/ different springs (Eibach 1.5'' drop)
I'm just trying to figure out perches now..yes, a DD- just a backup to drive so I can park/work on the brown one until it dies

Since I have a 1.5'' lowered set of springs, do I need to compensate my rear sway bar end link sleeves and mounting bolts for a lowered car with a thicker bar...?
----
that suggestion's taken from THE other Mark VIII form;
what I'm asking is, do I need to mod my factory rear sway bar b/c of this lowered kit? I know that was not done with the std height conversion kit on my brown one
...

:feedback

Want some feedback? Youre a putz. The crap you keep asking has been gone over in great detail many times.

Now STOP texting Sapperfire all day with stupid questions and idiocracy. Constantly asking him how to use a wrench is annoying because I need him here at work WORKING, no dealing with you.

So lets get this straight. He said he had springs and shocks FROM A THUNDERBIRD for sale. YOU contacted him for the parts and he sold them to you at a great price. He didnt call you up and ask if you wanted to buy them. You knew damn well what they were from. So this constant bitching that they dont have Mark perches (cause they aint from a Mark) or the fact that the SPRING AND SHOCKS didnt include a set of shorter sway links is getting on my nerves cause I have to run a buisiness and constantly listen to the next stupid thing you said.

You were told it was a complete set from a Thunderbird. So no perches is on you. Do your homework. And why the hell would you think that would include sway links?
Thats like buying socks and expecting a pair of free shoes.

Order shorter links from SCP or go to Autozone and get their Energy Suspension kit and cut the sleeve down about a half inch.

If you have a problem with this then send the shocks and springs back. I will refund you myself minus the shipping charges to and from just so Jeremy can get back to work and stop dealing with one dumb comment/question after another.

Whoa I dunno what that's about^..but lots of people have used lowering springs on mark viiis before and I've yet to see someone mention anything about having to mess with the sway bar end links..don't forget you're adding isolators also which will add some overall height to the rear so your 1.5" drop isn't literally going to be that much lower..it'll lower it some from the STOCK mark height but 1.5" lower is rated for thunderbirds/cougars that have different mounting perches and lower control arms..which is what the eibachs were meant for. So to answer your question NO you shouldn't have to worry about that.

---send em back? why would I do that? the used JY coils are (allegedly) worth $500 and the used JY shocks are allegedy worth $700??
I got $1200 worth of used suspension for just $400; heeeelll.... I could probably resell these used shocks and triple my $
:bsflag:

if your employees waste time at work, take their toys away

1: I'm not an "employee", I'm an owner
2: yes you frigging stole those springs for the price you got them at, I had SEVERAL offers for them for more than you paid, however I honored your price since I had already agreed to it.
3: if you can't figure out how to install them, take them to a mechanic

---
simple misunderstanding, I presumed 'Full Setup' meant everything needed to do the job;
--- fwd me those big fat offers, I may want to dump this gold sitting in my garage

Full setup means what it says in my FIRST post in this very thread FFS

It clearly says what you would've gotten.. however I had to use the Vogs due to someone ordering the wrong wheels, which you were told via text it would be the Eibach Pros instead of Vogtlands to which you said OK

Then you accuse me of ripping you off because you didn't realize it didn't come with perches or sway bar links??

Maybe you should've just went with the other option..Strut masters

I will not forward you anything, and I hope others on this site learn from my mistake and never do business with you.

mistake? you said $400 and in 3 days, you had a $400 money order (aka CASH) for used suspension others have paid less than $200 for in the JY

Yeah
..mistake... see how much grief I'm STILL getting from you after you've received your package.. if you don't like them go to For Sale forum or STFU

plus, if you recall, I told you the damn springs you got were STILL ON MY CAR AND WOULD BE REMOVED THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND because you needed me to load them on the front struts for you.. by the way that's $65 per hour.. so sit there and keep pouting that you have to spend more money on your Marks. If you're that poor, try WALKING

Strutmasters are probably the worst..

I've got a full setup for sale right now
Tokico Illumina with Vogtland springs.
Make me an offer in a PM ...AFTER you research the springs

See above

Nowhere in that post does it state you'd be getting Perches, nor sway links, or stabilizer bars, or back rubs, or foot massages

If I would have known I could get free text support I would have texted... Lol you more often

dude, you're the one that started with the thread hi-jack, peddling your JY treasures that someone else didn't want, this is not the For Sale section..

at least the ball joint wash and wax was included in the $400??? lol

I have just had to hear non stop complaining about him complaining. I have had enough. He seems very inept at even knowing what tool to use on the car and while I am working on a customers car with Sapperfire and he has to take a break to answer yet another asinine question it pisses me off.

I am told he expected all kinds of extra parts that were never mentioned by Sapperfire nor told he could have. He was also told what they came off of so should have known he needed spring cups.

As for the sway bar, if you are lowered AND have a larger than stock sway bar you need shorter end links. I know this because I broke a stock set, bent a stock set and busted a body mount with my Addco bar and 2" drop. Changed to a shorter endlink and the car is still going strong.
