I would like to get the opinion of everyone on here about a 1996 Mark VIII vs my 1993 Mark VIII... I have the chance to get a 96 with 113,000 miles on it. Its black with tan interior and 10 spoke wheels. The only catch is for me to get it I would have to get rid of the 93. My 93 has 116,000 on the clock its red with black interior. I dont know what is wrong with the 96 since I have not got to look at it yet. So what say you the masses?

Only way I'd fox with a 96 is if it was an LSC and cleaner than the one you got now. Being OBD II is a plus, but too many 96 only parts that you can't find anymore. Oh and tan interior sucks. A few years back I almost bought a supercharged 96 off ebay, til I saw the tan guts.

Why consider the change?
The only significant advantage of the '96 was the gen1 styling with LSC package, the monochrome trim, the possibility of HID headlights, and maybe the dual exhaust.

Unless you just want black/tan more than a red/black, I fail to see any advantage for you.

the other car has no fewer miles and an unknown history. i don't think that's worth the trouble.

So far I see exactly what all of you are saying... So I just think I will keep the 93... I would really like an LSC.

I dont have a mark but if i were to ever own one it would be gen II black on black.

Like mentioned only thing "better" with the 96 is OBD11. Other one year stuff not good when finding parts. 93 all the way.

Keep the 93, I wouldn't take a 96lsc over it simply because of the parts you can no longer get..
Just because whatever may work now, doesn't mean its not going to fail eventually, and when it does, you're stuck

you have the factory tune the LSC wishes it had...the old wise saying "sometimes the grass isn't greener on the otherside of the fence."

crackhead says what?

he asked if he should buy a 96 and sell his 93, i said no, sell the 93 and buy a second gen, screw the 96, and the 95's, 4's, and 3's

Just for you Jamie, I'm gonna get a 2nd gen in a couple of months, maybe 3, just so you'll shut your pie hole.

me too I am going to paint 00 on the doors, trunk lid and hood then weld the doors shut put a roll bar in it the travel the smash up derby circiut.

If the body on the black car was IMMACULATE then I would consider it, only because you could put the red car's interior into it and have a clean gen 1 blk/blk.
