What kind of window tint are you using?

So there are many different types of tint out there and want to know what you guys are using.

Since my car is a dark navy blue, I am considering having blue(ish) tint instead of the usual smoked. I just hope it won't end up looking tacky.

I've got 20% on the front windows, and 5% on the back windows. 2-ply 3m tint.

since im in cali i cant have the front tinted but did it anyway and put 50% and 5% in the back

I have whatever the dealer installed 13 years ago. Held up well except one quarter window. The shops I use have Lumar and in the last 4 cars I did it always looked great.

Also I dont like colord tint. Smoke is the only way to go.

Unless you know what you're doing on the back window, don't even try it. Side windows are simple but that back window is no joke. I tried it but ripped it off on the black 94 and just took it and had it done and the same guy has done 4 Mark VIII rear windows in total for me and he still hates doing the rear window and he has been tinting for around 15 years. I have done a few cars myself before but I'll never try the back window on a Mark again. Being pre-cut doesn't help anything.

1. First time was 5% and I was ticketed. Had to remove within 72 hours.

2. Second time was when I took it back to get 35% put on to make the police happy.

3. I replaced the rear window with one that had a perfect window seal and he had to tint it again, same car.

4. 94 burned, bought the 95 and took it to him again to have those windows done in 35%.

yea, i've done tint before. Seems like everything but truck back windows suck, but the marks are pretty bad.

Not sure what your local tint shop charges but I can have a rear window done for $70 and it's worth it.

You HAVE to have a heat gun for sure on that one. I think I have a phone pic of him doing my car.

Now it has a JL Audio decal on it.

my 97 is tinted with smoked llumar 5% on everything except the windshield, i dont have a windshield strip like most cars, i have my entire windshield tinted with 50% mine is very dark, at night its bad but i love it! the windshield is not hard to see out of at night though just all the other windows lol.
