Poll is a little odd. I would say that most commonly, low grade is 87, mid grade is 89, and premium is 91.

I haven't seen 93 in many years.

I use 91 premium in my car.
 
Only one or two places around here have 91 and Murphy gas station in front of Wal Mart is one of them. Everything else is pretty much 93 but our grades are 87, 89, 93 and Wal Mart is 87, 89, 91
 
I only use 91 in my tbird and only used 91 in my mark except for the one time I saw 94 in northern Nevada for a few cents more and used it. Here in Vegas it's 87/89/91. All I use is 91. The cost of pinging isn't worth the risk IMO, chevron and shell only for me as well. I filled up at a local cheap/shady/seedy station durring the $4.50 crisis out here and the bird drove like crap, started missing/pinging, I had it towed home immediately and had to drain that crap out, change my fuel filter and refill it with the good stuff. Expensive lesson learned on trying to be cheap.
 
I have ran the low grade stuff forever. I have had 3 marks and a 95 taurus SHO manual. I never had any carbon problems, and I have NEVER heard any of them ping. These cars have the ability to compensate for whatever fuel you run through them by adjusting timing. That being said, I did fill the Mark up last night with 93 and unplugged the PCM to reset its "learned" value. I already had the wrench in the car from installing the chip and the cover above the pedals is still in the trunk, so it literally took a minute to unplug it, pump the gas, and plug it back in. I am pretty skeptic, I know a lot of "performance" feel is pshychological. I have ran 93 in the past on the stock tune just to see if there was a difference, even after resetting the PCM. Never ever felt a difference in any of the cars between 89 and 93, so I just kept using 89. However yesterday, with this chip and the advanced timing, I do believe I felt a fair increase in power. We were coming down an onramp and there was a Suburban towing a boat, and I wanted to beat him out. My wife and I both agreed that the car felt WAYYY faster, we were both laughing and saying Holy Sh*t, the car is going to LAUNCH us onto the highway.
 
They were AMAZIZIZING. I didnt wanna shut the highs off for oncoming traffic. I will have to take pics tonight.

You mean low lead as in it actually contains a little bit of lead? Or is lower lead than regular fuel? Auto fuel should contain no lead. It ruins cats.
 
in my neck of the woods most stations are 87/89/91....i run 89.
 
i have use 93 octane 99% of the time sunoco 1% shell just commom sence to me the higher the better performance i wish they had 94 but sunoco stop carrying it here in nj some of the stations here are 87/89/91 or 87/89/93 .
 
It feels better, but it's only in your head.. If the motor isn't knockin, it doesn't care what octane rating fuel it has.
