I bought a '97 mark viii LSC just the other day, so hi everyone!
She's a bit of a project, so let's start with the ugly: suspension and bushings are clapped out front and rear, which from what I read around the forums is inevitable.. system check complains of trouble in TC/ABS, likely related to the thrashed ride.
But, here's where the good starts: I've got a nice head start on the fixes, previous owner had stashed in the trunk a full front coilover and rear spring conversion kit, plus both front UCA/LCA's with new bushings, all motorcraft OEM and Moog balljoints. I was sad to see the taillight's cracked in the middle and full of water, BUT.. also included was a NEW neon taillight assembly, still in Ford dealer packaging, even with matching paint and LSC badge!!
Those are the big fixes, she's only 87k miles, very clean light graphite interior, almost-immaculate silver frost paint, save for a doink in the driver's rear quarter and some haze on the nose. Everything works, all the seat powered motions, sunroof, everything. she's nearly optioned out, with 10-cd sound, homelink, was even fitted with the carphone from the dealer

only missing heated seats, which 11 months of the year I won't miss (the heater itself doesnt work, add that to the work list lol)
I'm happy the powertrain looks good from what I can see, nothing's leaky, fires right up, smogged easy (CA). I'm no stranger to heavy duty repair jobs like this car needs, but this is the first car I've ever owned that will be *NICE* inside and out, once the wrenching is done. This's the first car I've owned with leather seats, a sunroof, or a proper giant trunk. Never owned a lincoln, or a luxury ride of any kind really, nor anything with 300 hp! I'm pleased I got a good price, given the repairs needed, so with a bit of luck, some more cash, and yet more hard work she'll be snazzy, and taken care of (besides a cheeky donut or burnout every once in a while

).
pics, on the trailer:
parked on a slight downhill, the front end droops real low on the busted air springs
Also pictured above is the oddball right front wheel (the old guy before the old guy I bought it from had it lost in his garage stuffed with junk, apparently).. this didnt bug me too much, junkyard cars have plenty of the directional wheels, but it looks like that's a kinda rare octastar wheel, and I've got it as a bonus?? lolz. I may keep it this way, with the odd wheel, cause it'll be street parked in Oakland eventually, and she can't be looking *too* nice
anyway, hi to all, happy to join this forum!
