that's the one that was crashed and i put back together a few months ago. it belongs to my aunt. it's waiting for the right time to have the door and fender pulled out and painted.
 
Drove 150 miles round trip yesterday to go to Roy Rogers in Pine Beach NJ for 2 Roast Beef n Cheese's and a Bacon Cheese Burger :cool:

That was the first course soon to be followed by a Double R Burger and another Roast Beef in Cheese then a long ride home...

Friend with Edge Dub just called me an hour and half ago cause the battery wet the bed. Went to Walmart and saw a new Caddy sitting in the center median with the front smashed then a Nissan or something in the bushes on the side of the road...:confused:[video=youtube;_17H3P7bgb8]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_17H3P7bgb8[/video]
Oh and this is THE ROYS none other like it so it's worth the trip :N
 
Finally put a new spring in my hood release. Now I can finally open my hood on my own without help. :-)

Ran into guy who bought my Silver LSC off of me for dinner and BSing with him in the parking lot I noticed how wasted the new tires I put on the car were.

DUB Edge???? Those look Like Edge Sport wheels, are you sure its not a sport?

Nope, this thing is like a few years old now and it has a Dub badge on it from the factory. Was the reason he bought it cause he would never see another one driving by. That is until the Sport came out :mad:
 
someone stuck a dub badge on it and made something up...
could have even been the dealer.

what year is it?

The sensor was leaking, so I took the lower hose off and then took the sensor off, but the part of that sensor that goes into the pump stayed in the pump. Gotta take the upper line off Monday and remove the whole pump to get that part out..grr

thanks, I used the Metro Restyling brand...I agree the dark grey does look kinda like duct tape-I may redo it if it gets to me....I removed the cupholder (after removing console) to wrap them, although it can probably be done in place...this stuff softens up like butter with just a small amount of heat. I used rough steel wool and scuffed the plastic tops beofre wrapping them. Gonna do the shifter and eatc bezels soon

nah..it's the same as most Mark VIII's: plastic simulated wood covers, chipped on the inside edges so you can see it's plastic; in my white car the shifter bezel is cracked from prolonged sun exposure...definitely cheap plastic junk, prolly made in China. Did any Mark 8s come with actual wood trim or is it all fake wood like mine?

since the temps are changing I'm driving the brown car daily: @ 90 miles/ day, 500/week...the suspension is std height strutmasters with about 20k miles on it; this car rides much more comfortably than the white car with the 1.5" lowered eibachs and white Tokicos..not sure why. Mileage on the white car's susp is unkown
 
Hi folks...have not visited here in awhile! Took my Mark over to the local paint/body shop and they changed out headlamps that I refurbished and put on a front bumper that I had retrieved from another Mk8 at a Pull-A-Part in Winston Salem, IIRC...it will be painted in the original red color...more later with pics!
 
Ive read that all the wood grain trim on the 95-98 marks have some sort of thin layer of "real" wood over plastic, then coated over with some sort of clear resin or whatever it is.

Veneer is just a paper thin sheet that's laid on top. Basically enough to give it its pattern
 
Went to get in the mk today and the remote didn't work! Tried the button pad and nothing. Gained entry using the key and no start, dome lights or nothing. I thought WTH! New battery and alt what could be the problem. Hooked jumper cables up to it and the head light's came on! I thought hhmmm...the wifey's been sneaking it out! She did a hell of a job parking it so I wouldn't know she was driving it, except the fact she left the headlight's on and the heater on full blast.
I guess I'll have to talk to her about that later.
She had her chance with this car....now it's mine! There's 3 vehicles in the driveway and she sneak's out the VIII. Now that it run's like new and the interior is in almost new condition...she want's back in.
Am I being unreasonable that I don't want her driving it? Her ride is a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4, looks and rides like new and she take's the VIII because...well you guy's know why...you just can't keep your hand's off it...:)
