weird steering issues

i have a bit of a shake in the steering wheel at 65-75ish and it usally drifts to the right. but if i go down a smoot stretch of road i really can't notice it. i was thinking alingment and balance, but i'm thinking it might be something a little more sinister

I had the same thing at 45 to 75 and it turns out that the stupid ass tire shop done what I told them not to do and put weights on the outside of my rim. One fell off and was causing the steering wheel to wobble but after taking it to a different shop and having all the outer weights removed and inner stick on weights installed for a good balance, the steering wheel wobble was cured and all speeds are very smooth now.

I never had the drifting problem though.

Our front ends are rediculously sensative to imbalence. I have my tires balenced every oil change and right before its done I get shake from 50-65. Gotta keep them balenced and I prefer static weights.

Check your front end. My car was doing exactly that. I ended up buying brand new tires, having inner weights put in and is still did it for me. Jamie looked and found that the strut rod bushing was bad.

not sure. they have a wide flat foot print

Check your bushings, and use the balance weights that TAPE to the center of the rim, I hate the clamp style, they always fall off

They cured my problem but I had good bushings. It was only the weights that were on and one had fallen off. Front drivers tire weight was missing completely.

if you have wider tires they like to follow the road more
I assume you have crappy roads like us here in MN
to help the car go straight next time you get an aliment
have them do as much positive caster as they can
as for the vibration it has been said already check front end parts
and tires for balance and feathering

I live in michigan so you are correct in assuming the condition of the roads. some of roads are so worne they have a bit of a "W" shape on the roads
