Well I must say in replacing my rear reflector assembly I decided (after the emblem I had on the broken assembly wouldn't fit the new one! - lol) to re-do the emblem....how long did it take you guys to clean the crud off of your emblem! Me - 7 hours and a whole box of Q-tips and nail polish remover!!!!! Now I want to go black instead of red...loving yours Ed, but unsure about how you guys did the back side? Paint? I have black Duplicolor acrylic enamel, and there is a 3M plastic and emblem adhesive (don't think I should use this one it recommends to press on then lift back off for 10-15 seconds then press back on-eeeek. wont that screw up the paint on the back of the emblem!), I also have elmers acid free adhesive spray.
Here is the emblem cleaned, I should keep it smooth, correct? I would also like something really unique instead of black, but I just can't find anything that tickles my fancy....any new ideas since this thread has been resting?
Oh also one tip I found very helpful in taking the plastic piece off (mine was really on there!!!) Once I got it lifted slightly starting with the small end, I slid a thin card under it (one of my "store swipe" cards on my keychain), then gently pushed it downward to the large end, came right out with no damage to the plastic (whew!). Weird, one latch cover had 1 hole right in the center, and the other has 2 holes, one toward the top and one toward the bottom off centered.
Any ideas you got for "booty bling!", but tasteful, of course
lolol Thanks Hotties!!!
