As some of you know, back in January on the 7th, I blew up my 94 black on black while it was in the garage. Yes it because I was doing something that I had no business doing. I changed 4 injectors out on the drivers side and accidentally left an extra O-ring in the intake or on an injector and before I cranked it, I didn't check for leaks. That was the stupid part. Not that I can't change injectors, it was how I went about doing it. Anyway, I think Jamie felt a little sorry for me and he offered me the 95 he had for $2000, which I felt was a good deal. It only had 125K on the clock and now has 127K.

Now we're in July and my liability insurance finally decided that they would pay the $23,000 in damages. BTW, OMNI insurance sucks. The contractors have been here for about a week now and the 95 almost has it's own bedroom built back after being out in the weather since I bought it. Today is the first day I have actually been able to back the car in the garage. The drywall goes up tomorrow and the side window is also going in and then a new NON WINDOW insulated garage door goes up next. I asked for no windows because I like to park and hide (act like I'm not home) so that's what I'm getting. The side window will be taken care of with black paper.

Just to show what it did look like, I have some pics. Keep in mind, it's not finished yet but will be before next week is over. The floor will be painted too. After all this, they'll be coming in and painting the entire house and laying all new carpet just in case some are wondering where the $23,000 is going. I actually blew the back wall off the foundation, including the back door and thresh hold and I do mean off the foundation. I will never do injectors again, not in the garage anyway. :p

That was a blurry pic for some reason.

and now, I just took this quick below because my battery had just enough power for this one pic.

That stuff all in the floor is some kinda wax based sweep or something. Anyway, when it's complete, I'll be updating this thread. I wished my dad could have been here to see it come together and only a couple of people here know this (Jamie & Laser) but I found him dead, laying in his bed on the 8th of this month. So yeah, I have had a lot to deal with this month. None of it has been easy but it's slowly getting better.

wow man its looking good dude! a normal garage again woo hoooo!!!! gonna be so nice to have it back and i suggest building yourself a nice new fancy work bench for all the tinkering you are going to be doing, just keep the tinkering with gas delivering objects to someone else! good luck with the rest of it, you are gonna be like a little kid out there, i can see a flat screen on the wall already!!!

Sorry to hear about your dad. I had a similar situation when my dad passed back in 1997, and it makes every other trouble you have seem minor. I am glad you are getting the place back together though.

Yeah man sorry to hear that about your dad!!! I never heard anything about your car being blown up on the news or anything.... I had a black on black 1996 about two years ago and the rear window defroster shorted out and blew the back window out of it while I was stopped at the redlight at Hughes and Old Madison Pike. I jumped out of the car at the redlight (lmfao) so fast!!! Sounded like a bomb going off. Just got the window so hot I guess and it exploded and started to catch the plastic trim on fire so when I walked back up to the car to see what happened, I ran back to the door and grabbed my drink out and poured it on the flames!!! I was so mad!!!

I think 31 news or channel 19 was out here but it was on the news. They had the car put out though by the time they got here. It was channel 19 now that I think about it.

Glad you're getting things back fixed up!!! Nothing like having a nice garage. So many people use them for bs!!! Atleast you will have yours for something good! (MARK Viii)

Yes RC, after this long of a wait, I will finally have a garage again.

97Silver, I know what you mean. People all around me all use their garage for storage units and leave their cars outside. The only things I will have in mine are a couple of Craftsman tool boxes and one rolls. A 60 Gallon compressor, a 99 GMC Sanoma and the Mark. Nothing else will be in the garage and all that stuff I mentioned will be on the Sanoma's side. It used to be cluttered but I could still park in there. I had a Mexican come out and I gave away almost everything out there. Everything you see in the first pic, I pretty much gave to him. Saws, tanks, welder but the majority of the stuff was melted or had melted switches or didn't work. No more clutter. I hate clutter.

When I went to Jamie's house to get the car, I couldn't walk in his garage lol. It gave me anxiety but he has lots of parts and things for Marks in there for sale. I had to take a xanax when I left there and went to his shop. Now I have to admit, he has a clean shop.

You're right. I'm not sure how your experience was but when you find your own parent dead, it's an unreal feeling, especially after 41 years. No matter the years, it's still something I would never wish on anyone. He was 61

terry you would be proud of my garage now we can actually pull a car in it. cleaning my garage is almost useless because of all the parts, packing and shipping we do, but we down sized out there and it actually looks like a garage now. if we didnt have those heavy shelves out there parts would be all over the place.

Lol, When you have a lot of stuff it gets like that!!! I have to look around and throw or give stuff away about once a month just to not get cluttered up around my house.

And

Jamie I am sure I will be buying some stuff from you real soon so I'm going to introduce myself my name is Daniel, you got a clean car dude!!!

I'm coming to Florida in October Jamie. I'm gonna come over to your side and do an inspection lol.

It belongs in a garage too! Make room for it Jamie. The rear window seal is just waiting to ripple. :p

my seal is already shot, its tucked into the drip edge, its hard to tell though thats why i have left it alone. but really it needs to be replaced. i still have a rear window up on my loft and that 97 thats all stripped in my shop has a pretty decent back window too i will most likely keep it before i junk the car.

Ok, I have fully insulated the entire garage all the way around. A new window was installed and a new hot water heater was installed and a new breaker box was installed. Drywall went up yesterday and today and then it was taped off but they ran out of tape close to the end. This is where it stands now.

i know the feeling terry, i have had a stripped 97 in my shop for over 2 months now and finally had it towed today, emptied all my trash cans, put all my tools away that found their way to a new home on the work bench, i washed the whole shop floor, put some parts away bumper cover, few fenders, just picked up finally. its been so hot in my shop lately its the last place i have been going. i have barely been there at all lately. but i finally did all this and backed in the next victim!

my garage is bigger!!

newshop3.jpg

wow it is huge with nothing in it!!!!

Yeah yeah, your garage is bigger but I can walk out of my laundry room right into mine lol. Comes in handy when you go get groceries and it's pouring down rain. It keeps the paint looking good on your car, it keeps the rear window seal in mint condition and the list goes on. The floor will be cleaned and painted within a week. That's going to change a lot of what it looks like, along with the paint that goes on the walls. Plus, mine will be air conditioned. :p

Right now, the Mark and Sanoma fit perfectly in there. All I'm adding will be the compressor and one big Craftsman rolling toolbox. This time it will not be cluttered. Clutter pisses me off.

It look's good bro!!! Do you have someone already doing the painting? I need to make some quick cash and I have alot of painting stuff, lol?

Well, right now the painting is already contracted out, along with the floor cleaning and painting. Don't forget, you have a part I'll buy from you when ever you go out to Hazel Green and get it. I'll give $100 tomorrow for it.

blah blah blah terry talk your smack about how good the window trim looks, or how the paint looks, if it wasnt for me and my hands your car wouldnt look that way. everyone always cries about me doing this and doing that to these marks, but yours is a perfect example of one i not only didnt part out, but brought it back from a butchered driveway grave from some jackass. my car does just fine sitting outside, i take care of it. its not like the majority of the neglected black cars in florida!

By no means am I downing your car, believe me. I know you take care of it and yes, you did do a damn good job on the 95. The only problem I have had with the car is the alternator but that's fixed now and has a bigger battery in it. Well, I had to replace the shocks and mounts too but that was minor with an irritating noise that I don't hear anymore.
