Stuck in gear.

93 Mark 8. It's stuck in park! It acts like the actuator that lets the shifter move is not working. Any ideas or places to start would be appreciated. I have never run into this before. On a ide note the car also has a bad multifunction switch.

if not it's the brake on/off switch on the brake pedal, mine was doing the same thing

Brake lights work fine. My mother looked in the owners manual and found a default for now. If you set the parking break and put the key between lock and run you can pull it into nuetral and satrt and go. I will have to fix his soon. And damnit it' leakin oil again. Oil filter baseplate gasket again. I hope.
She said it's that bad again. And that is all I can think of. Unless the pan rusted out.

the oil sending switch may have gone bad too, when they do, they spew oil, its on the end of the adapter plate, near the oil filter, cant miss it, one single wire plugs onto the end.

I replaced them both at the same time. I got them from Slowreily's. But got the fomoco ones. Is there a better replacement Such as there is for the intake on a GM 3.1L. *Slaps self with wire hanger for comparing car to a gm product* And hey Jamie, You got some chrome 10 spokes?
