Hey guys. I just got my exhaust run on my 93. Two straight pipes run from the two front cats all the way back and out the tips with no mufflers. I'm planning on getting the x on there in a couple of days. Well now after they run the pipes, while the car is idling the exhaust note sounds like put, put, put, put. I would get a sound clip but I not sure how to upload it. You can also hear it going down the road. It sounds like a 70's chevy truck with a exhaust leak!!!! ANy ideas? Would it be because there is no mufflers or no x in the system? HELP! Besides the Put,Put,Put, it sounds real good.

These cars fire two pistons on the same side almost at once, you need something to balance it out. Or you could just have an exhaust leak. If you plan on getting the x-pipe, wait for it to be installed.

Thanks bud. I hope all it needs is a x pipe. It really does sound like crap when it put, put, put, put, put. With that fixed, it would sound great.

I'm working on building an exhaust - so you're saying get 2 x pipes?

a SINGLE X pipe solved the issue, no need to buy 2.

I dunno know about that. I went with four x-pipes, a full turn back and a looptie-loop with a double crush mandrel bent resonator and it sounded GREAT! ;)

I think your car is Overdosing on X.....pipes.
(lol)

You need to copyright that...

The "Triple X Pipe".. RRRRRR you reading to Rummmmmblllllllllllllllllllllle!

Problem solved! I got him to install a single x and it smoothed out the exhaust perfectly! It sounds great. :) No more put, put, put, put:D

I had double X pipes on my old 98, and it sounded really good with the stock cats and aftermarket mufflers. But your mileage may vary, what I like you might hate.

Where have you been hidding at? We need you around for spelling checks & so you can remind us about the search feature! LOL. welcome back.

Frogman, are you a deep sea fisherman or work as a government contractor in the middle east or something? :p

PMC... Private Military Contractor

That explains your disapearing from time to time. BTW, this wouldn't be you.... would it?:p
