And brings it home with a severe possibly dangerous brake problem. Borrows my truck to go to the beach, well comes home tonight saying its making a weird clanking noise and hard to stop. I'm like ok well I know what the clanking is (forgot anti rattle clips last brake change) the not stopping? Hmmmm go hop in it put in reverse going down hill goes nowhere wtf? Checked park brake etc... Hit the throttle nowhere... Ok really wtf? Punch it chirp tire in driveway and boom breaks free alright I'm pissed at this point. Look underneath and the caliper is smashed against the rotor and a caliper bracket bolt sheared off. Allowing the bracket to shift. And pretty much locking up the rotor. So I'm going to have fun this weekend. Cause I have to take them 30 miles to where I got the rotors (warranty) cuz I got discounted by half the price. So if I'm going to go I'm going to change all 4 rotors.

No not mark viii related no question. And whatever to the person that said cool story bro your an ass. And I've seen pointless posts on here before too. And it wasn't the caliper bolt it's was the bracket to spindle bolt. And the last time I did the brakes was 7 months ago. **** happens I guess.

All they are saying is that it should've gone in off topic discussion.

Unless of course said truck has a dohc 4.6 in it. If that's the case it's in the correct spot.

I know but I still don't really know the site all that well not trying to seem like I took it up the ass or anything just responding with a little assertiveness not really meaning it.

Dan is not an ass.
your post is in the wrong section.
i don't care how long ago it was, that caliper bracket bolt was over-tightened in the past. that stretches the bolt and it gets brittle there up by the head of the bolt.

Understandably but she did make matters worse by driving on it for miles on end. So her fault it broke no my fault sure as hell not. And sorry for it bein in the wrong place you didn't have to reply to it. And it wasn't a serious response saying he is an ass it was a friendly remark like you say to your friends that say something mean you know. All in all it's fixed now and really instea of checking and responding to this thread how about the one I really do need help with in my A/C line since that is a legit question.

We use humor & have fun on this page & that's normal on most forums. If you can't take a bashing then join the other site. It's for Mark VIII owners from 79-109yrs of age.

I really do need help with in my A/C line since that is a legit question.

Now were talking. Be more specific though. Create a new thread.

not that i disagree, but this sounds like it could have happened to whoever was driving the truck at the time.

True it could happen where and whenever..BUT I'd rather it happen to me when driving my own car than have someone else borrow it and bring it back screwed up. I'd rather be mad at myself than someone else, know what I mean?

oh i don't let anyone drive my car but my brother and my friend because both would take just as good of care of it as i would.
other than that, nah.

My son drives my car and if something breaks then so be it. It would have broke on me if I was driving it so might as well fix it.
