Since S/C is not in picture for my Gen 1 I am thinking of adding this to the stable:

Huh, didnt know you had a mullet.

Any dead bodies in the trunk?

Hey there's nothin wrong with the occasional white Chevrolet in the stable...

This is my 1980 Chevy.......

Thats my favorite Mark VIII commercial. That should be enough to get you motivated to fixing up your Mark. Whats the problem with the Mark? But even if you give up on the Mark please keep looking it seems hard to believe that would make a Mark VIII owner happy.

Nothing wrong with the Mark except a few minor detail issues...all the mods are done for now...when the motor blows up then I will revisit more mods such as headers, forced induction etc....time to to just enjoy driving her.

As far as having a mullet since I live in Rebel country I see nothing wrong with that style of choice...

if you can't appreciate diversity in the different vehicles that may come across your path then you are sorely missing on opportunities...

for each their own...

going to look at the car this afternoon so I will post what happens later.

Yeah, well if Ford had made a Corvette, I'd have bought a Ford Corvette. Besides, I still think I'm covered, since I still own 2 Marks......

Or the Mazda Miata turned Cobra-wanna-be that looks like a cartoon on Cars

ford did make a corvette only lasted about 4-6 years if i recall correctly, the 56+ Thunderbird(originally much faster than the vette, especially the f code s/c'd ones).

o and great car looks like a steal. i am by all definitions a ford man but i am a fan of all american cars. but a huge hate of all foreign automotive, of course short of Subaru, Mazda, Nissan, and of course Porsche. its a steal i hope it works out buddy(ls2 retrofit maybe???)

So my question to everybody is if you could have one car in your stable from each dec

After looking at the car today it was not a steal at 3K however maybe at 2K definitely at 1.5K...car is a "project"; in my humble opinion to get to "nice ride" status would cost about 3K. Did not make an offer as I knew being one of the first to look at the car he would decline so if car is still available Monday I will offer him 1.5K.

I did drive my Mark VIII there and some ricer in a late model "raped" 300ZX did once over my car as I drove by him. I love my Mark and she will always be the lead horse in my stable which consist of her and a 2007 Pontiac G6 hardtop convertible; my goal is to have one car from each decade represented. Some of the cars of my past include a 1974 442, 1972 Monte Carlo, 1977 Trans Am, 1979 Olds Cutlass, 1968 225 ragtop, 1986 IROCZ28, 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and 1990 Ford Thunderbird.

So my question to everybody is if you could have one car in your stable from each decade which cars would you include? Remember just one from each decade.

I am still pondering my list.

I would much rather have the late 70's Trans Am than the Z-28. On ebay I have seen some hoped up late 80's T-birds for cheap that interested me. There GM counter parts you mentioned seem to go for to much.

That 77 Trans Am I had by far was the fastest car I owned; it was a ghetto hot rod...had a stage 2 cam and a bad ass turbo 400 trans not sure of the gear but most likely a 3.73... and I only had it for about 4 months. When I first bought the car it was a mess...bad header leak, wasn't dialed in etc. I wound up fixing the header leak with of all things a vice grip :D...only car I ever owned that could lay rubber down when it shifted from 2nd to 3rd if my memory serves me right that would have been at about 80 mph...that car left me with a life long reminder, a wicked scar on my knee...that story can be for another time.

I am still thinking about that list...one car that does peak my interest is the 1980-85 Cadilac Eldorado...that car has some great style. Someday I will post my dream stable then check them off one by one.

later...
