Shocks

[99 Interceptor]

I replaced the rear shocks with Tokico Blues, which are on sale, seems to have made a difference. The car has been converted to coil overs and I have searched the forms and the only application I could find for the fronts is a 97 V8 T-bird does anyone have any recommendations?

Any front shock (or as Thaywood would call it, a strut) that fits a 97 bird will fit in a mark. The only perf oriented front shock are the tokico's.

H&R Springs would be my choice but there are also a couple of others such as Thunderbird lowering springs from Eibach and American Air suspension sells the kit too. Check this thread out and maybe DLF will come on later and advise more about the subject. I can't suggest much because I remain on air and not coming off of it anytime soon.

Well...., I did say I couldn't really advise on a coil over setup lol. I prefer air and never really studied the perfect coil over setup. When someone gets something, no matter what it is, they claim it's the best ride they ever had. That could be the case because what they were riding on before was probably beyond being trashed. Don't know if the OP wants the lowered look or normal look that usually takes SOME time to settle to a halfway decent look and not 4X4 mode. I hate to see a Mark setting 5 inches up above the wheel well.

Tokicos are good, mine are with 2" drop Eibach springs for a Tbird

I got the rears for about $20 less than the price from Tokico, So I'll shop around for the fronts.
The car was already converted when I got it, I'd like to put the air ride back in but the pump, bags and sensors are all gone. It's be $$$$ to go back.

Neither. The rears can still be bought but when they run out, they are out. Koni is not producing the rears anymore and stopped the fronts long ago.

Rears are right at $245 with free shipping if you know where to look.

It's working out just great. There was a few months in between when I finished them, and when they were finally installed, and I forgot to update the thread.

I love them. They feel really great. It's obviously not quite as smooth as a factory fresh Mark VIII, but that wasn't what I was going for....

That being said, it still has a very smooth ride, probably much smoother than a car with old worn out shocks in it. It feels much more planted now on curvy roads, especially with the 1 3/8" rear sway bar and the Koni's in the rear too.

So if I'm not mistaken you can't get Koni's for the front any more so what is the best firm new shock you can get for the front. Can you get Bilstiens for the front ?? I guess Tokicos would be next. Are they much better then KYBs there quite a bit cheaper ??
