I finally took the camera to the airstrip where the Hindenburg crashed. I drove out there this morning.:) The first 2 pictures turned out good, but as I stopped to take a 3rd, I noticed something very bad......:confused:see if you can see it and after the first 2 i will reveal all.....

What I saw after the 2nd pic is a quickly growing puddle of liquid under my car. I walked over to it and checked. It was OIL!!!!! I pulled into a parking lot and shut it off. Then I got under there and located it. It appears to be the oil pressure sending unit. :(Has anyone ever had this go out before? I don't know why it started leaking out of the blue, but I'm very glad it was the one time I was looking at my car from a distance:shifty: Here are pics of the leak:

I will be doing an OP sensor swap in a parking lot tomorrow morning. lol:cool:

Damn. Be glad you were not driving. I was in a drive-thru and people were ordering the whole menu. The line was slow. But I noticed my car started to smoke. No warning lights. I pulled over and had the same, oil pouring out! Since I was not far, I just added some oil and got home with a chase car.

I had the gasket between the filter adapter and the block blow out a few weeks ago. Thankfully, I was pulled out of my grandparents driveway at the time, and noticed the trail before I pulled out onto the road.

I replaced that gasket this past spring when the car still belonged to my cousin. It was a PITA.

Thanks guys. If the weather had co-operated, it would have been taken sooner. I had this in mind for the calender. I'll hold on to it for a year. :D

Yes I have replaced both the oil pressure sending unit and the
Adapter gasket both are easy and on my town car and my old mark one followed the other

And yes you could of got some great calendar shots maybe next year

Happened on the 94 explorer, went into Kroger's came out noticed a huge puddle of fluid. An hour from home, couldn't drive it to the parts store that was a long hot walk for the part! And the parking lot had a nice stain after I was done, but I did buy a lot of oil from them.

Yeah. Something wrong. Were the mexicans. Grass need cut.

I'm taking the cheap route and using one from my parts car. Pay day is a few days away....lol

I swapped mine on my lift and only lost a tea-spoon of oil during the swap (ya gotta be really fast!) but the part is only about $2-$3, just buy a new one

Yep, I think I paid $5 for mine. Definitely be ready to throw the new one on as soon as the old one is off....oil will pour out.

did it today. no oil came out because it was over a gallon low! not a bad job at all. Even in a parking lot. :D
