Sapperfires car is up for sale!

Same block, same heads
the main differences in a Gen1 and a Gen2 is the management system, and cosmedics, with the exception of the basturd 96

Taking about putting a Gen II motor and trans in a Gen I
Would require swapping valve covers and intake plenum. Could use the plenum but would need a cowl hood. Trans is direct unless its a 98 then there are minor wire changes.

My valve covers and plenum and timing cover are custom painted...they require swapping regardless, along with everything else that's painted, all I need is a block and heads ..and yes I meant the best of both by being a Gen1 with OBD2,
and the worst because they have super rare 96 only special parts..
I did a ninja edit because I'm sure someone was gonna get confused.

The only other intake I would put on the motor to require a cowl hood is a 96 cobra...and I don't see one of those going on for a few months.

I bought another parts car that has been rear ended, but it runs great and only has 108k on it. It's a 97 red with black interior. The interior is already sold to guy here local, but I'm pulling everything else out if it.

If you can pick up another engine down there for $150, probably wouldn't be worth your time and $$ coming to grab this one if I hooked you up.

Maybe folks who need their junk fixed but are too cheap to pay the shop need a mechanic who is broke to do discount side jobs? lol

I bet if you can get an engine for $150, which is just a few side jobs if you managed to get a couple, you'd really be best to just wait imho. Moonroofs are overated, I need to keep perpetuating that fact because I want one too! I can't say I don't want a Gen 2 interior, but I don't want that ugly ass nose.

moonroofs are not overated.

I do sidejobs as often as I can...which is quite often. I've got a brake job at my place right now, and a front main seal lined up to be done next week on an LT1 cadi.

I appreciate the offer of the motor...and I would come get it..but I don't have a truck or anyone to loan me a truck to actually get it. I had to pay a friend to get the last one and it was only a few miles away.

thats not much of a friend. Gas money at most.

Yeah it's one of those friends that likes to call me at 3am when he's drunk and needs me to DD him and his idiot girlfriend home...then doesn't want to do any favors in return.. Same "friend" had me drive him his spare wheel from Waco to Dallas because he had a blow out and left his spare at his house...This is why I keep my list of friends small, and my small list are very close. Right now I've got it down to 1 good friend. Seems like all I do is help people all the time, then when Jeremy needs help nobody is around..oh well, whatever

I know a lot of people but have a certain (small) amount of friends for that reason. You go out of your way for people and they sh!t all over you when you need help. I also do things for myself because I hate oweing favors to people. I have learned my lesson 10 fold and I am very careful now.

Yeah I've gotten to that point myself, I've always done my own work... I don't normally
mind doing favors for people.. But when it becomes habit for people to constantly lean on me for things and then hide when I need a hand..it's just sad. That's why someone invented currency I suppose.

if we are going to Keleen this year ill pull the trailer for ya but i dont know as of right now if we are or not

Killeen? And I would have to take the motor to Bills, he has the cherry picker, I can't do work in my parkin lot. Something
like that would hve to be well coordinated for times, i only have Sundays off. I get off work at 6 and the yard closes at 5:30, sometimes I get off early if we are slow tho during the week. However it's not a place that's safe to drop a motor and leave it sitting there for long, someone else can take it

I know this type all too well. Just recently ditched their asses. It has taken me 42 years to figure out that their ain't no real true friend except maybe one and even then, you still have to keep an eye out for that ONE! My son is my friend and that's all I need. Hopefully he'll never stab me in the back lol.

BTW, I have a 4 ton cherry picker in my back yard I would let you have until income taxes or w/e but you're too far away. It's just setting out there collecting pine needles. brand new hydraulic jack was just installed on it a few months ago.

Cherry picker I have, well, Bill has... Just gotta limp or pull my car to it, it's an hour away..
If someone wants to buy it, they better hurry up and bring me 3grand before I have $150. Once I have that I'll get another motor and it will not be for sale

Probably, wish I could sell these 12" CVRs, it'd give me enough cash for a motor and a 10"

Started dropping another motor, can't find one with less than 100k, so all the ones here are broken in at least. There's 2 with over 230k, I don't want those.

The hood release doesn't work on this donor, it's ok, I brought my master key for all things locked

I helped you Because you helped me!

If it were my car I would toss in some fresh rings and bearings then get a good known pair of B heads or have the old ones rebuilt. The last engine I rebuilt was for my Mustang, the 59,000 mile 5.0 short block I bought already had exposed copper on the #1 main bearing.
