A member asked if i could redrill a set of hubs to 4.5" for him.... I said sure, and shortly after a brand new set of hubs and a box of studs arrived.

If anyone is interested, I'll redrill yours for $50, you supply the hubs, studs (Dorman 610-252) and cost of the ride back. $65 total seems to cover it.

If needed I will media blast used hubs for no additional charge. Hubs are drilled on a mill and rotary table using a pilot jig I made.

Sweet. Guessing it make the hub swap a lot cheaper.

but to hub swap, what rotors would you use? do they make rotors the same size as the mark in 4.5 instead of 4.25? or could you just drill the rotors to 4.5?

ok, saturn5: can you also drill a set of rotor to 4.5?

That makes it easy! can leave everything stock and run mustang rims..

i could its really pretty easy. send your hubs to this guy then its all bolt on plus you cant beat 50 bucks to redrill your hubs

I could work up a fixture to do rotors too... I'd have to figure a cost, and shipping would be a good chunk..

or, swap to Cobra rotors, front calipers and rear relocation brackets... :)

whoo! i recognize those pieces! you do good work man.

95mkviii: yep, redrill stock rotors is the easiest. i actually elongated the stock holes a bit. my brakes have like a thousand miles on em so i'm keeping my stock brakes for awhile. don't wanna give up brand new pieces.

NOTE: redrilled mark viii hubs will require a centering ring for the rear mustang 11.65 rotors.

has anyone had any problems with doing this modd to the hubs?

The hub on the Mark VII is slightly smaller diameter then a true Cobra hub. If you look close you can see a "step" in the hub. I need to look at my Cobra hubs, but I don't recall the step being there. I'm still using Mark brakes/rotors for now.

All you have to do is look at my "Cobra brake install" threads to see where rings are needed.

I think he knows were they are needed.
I think he is after a number, a bore size Dia. to make a set.
I looked quick at your threads, didn't see it.

Do you know/have the dia?

Couple questions... Is a mustang GT front rotor the same size as a Mark, just with a different bolt pattern and bore size? Meaning you can do a front mustang hub swap with a mustang rotor but still use your stock calipers? Also, does anyone manufacture the Hubcentric rings for the mark rear hubs?

no. marks are 11.6, GTs are 10.8. its easy enough to modify the stock rotors to fit mustang hubs.

Fast Ed on TCCOA might have a few left. that's where i bought mine.

can you drill rotors and keep stock brakes on? or do you need to change rotor on rear to mustang?
